If I'm ready to devote my life to God what should I do first?

Start loving people and enjoying your life.

Talk to missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and experience God for yourself.  We can learn God's will for ourselves through our own experiences with him.

You are correct that God does not actually have a gender. However, Christians have used male pronouns in referring to God from the very beginning, because (1) God has chosen to reveal Himself to humanity in the image of "Father", and (2) He came to Earth in the form of a man, Jesus Christ, 2,000 years ago. At that time He founded one Church, said it was to remain one, and promised that one Church "The Holy Spirit will guide you into all truth", and "Whatsoever you bind upon Earth is bound in Heaven", and "He who hears you hears Me".  Christianity is not a personal thing. It is a community of believers who support one another, love one another, and learn from one another. So, the first thing a new Christian has to do is become part of a supportive Christian community. Which leaves two alternatives - (1) become a member of the one Church He founded, to which He promised the fullness of God's truth; or (2) become a member of one of the 6,000+ denominations of Protestantism, which all claim to follow the Bible, but the teaching of each one contradicts the teaching of the others.

Go to God in prayer ask him to forgive you of all your past transgressions.  Study his word the Bible and transform your life in accordance to His will.

Listen for his message regarding what he wants you to do with it.

Listen to the pastor, read bible! Do not  listen to the negativity from the people setting behind us, because they don’t really Study the Bible very much and they have foul language which leads no nowhere!
