How do you think the government should respond to the recent mass shooting?
I believe weapons of this kind should be banned outright. I don't see where they have any benefit in a civilized society except in the hands of well trained law enforcement. But I understand that many believe a private citizen (who's not crazy) has the absolute right to not only own these types of weapons but to carry them around anytime and almost anywhere. So my question to those people is what should the government do? Nothing and hope for the best? Encourage more people to carry these weapons? Expand the use of the death penalty to discourage people to commit these crimes?

First of all your entitled to your opinion no matter how ignorant it is. Like many you seem to believe that a gun kills and not the individual who is yielding it for cars kill too now but your not promoting removing everyone's "priveilage" to drive a car now are you! You have the right to chose just as I do. The main difference is my right isn't attempting to remove your right now is it! Laws only impact the Law Abiding and they are not a threat but can actually protect "you and yours" because you "chose" not to own!

By never using the murdering little creeps name or showing his face. If they must be referred to it would be with the most disgusting adjectives possible and after the trial they should be dropped into a volcano.
Millions of guns are owned in the USA and over 99% of them have never been pointed at another human being. It is not the guns fault that we allow our criminals and sick'os walk free 24/7

The Biden government will respond in two ways.. first they will blame it on Trump.. and some have already done that.. and second they will drag out the " we must ban guns" legislation that we all know goes no where. all talk.
They would do better to find ways to deal with the crazies who commit this crime. This young man was obviously mentally challenged and just went nuts. has nothing to do with the gun or Trump!

The US actually had an "assault" weapons ban between 1994 and 2004. The results on that were mixed but you should at least know about it so you can do your research on this subject.

I support bringing back the assault weapons ban. These were designed to kill the most people in the shortest time ... especially w/ a high capacity magazine.

So-called mass shootings account for about 1% of all homicides in the US. I'm not sure why the government should be concerned about that 1% (to the exclusion of the other 99%), except for the fact that the victims of mass shootings tend to be mostly white whereas the victims of all other homicides tend to be mostly black or Hispanic.

No more than one gun per person and only a single shooter. To do that we have to expand the number of justices in the Supreme Court or Amend the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

How can you ban a gun when there are already millions out there?? Do you think people will just turn them in?? I support the death penalty.
