not at all.  the opportunity to bring new product to market and thus fill a need that customers can't otherwise easily fill is most important -- that usually leads to both feeling good about what you're doing and profits as well.  of course, ideas that fail to produce profit are quickly abandoned -- shows that you misunderstood the market for the product or service

But successful entrepreneurs tend to have a long term approach and may sacrifice profit maximisation temporarily to ensure long term success of the company...
