Which 1976 album is better: Rush's 2112 or Rainbow's Rising?

2112. It's the concept album Mercury didn't want created because of the way Caress of Steel flopped. Ray Daniels talked Mercury into giving Rush one more chance. Mercury wanted a commercial album but Rush wanted a more progressive rock sound. So, instead of doing a commercial album, Rush did a concept album.

2112's success saved Rush's career and defined their sound for the rest of their career.

2112 is an absolute CLASSIC!

2112 is one of the great rock albums of the decade, not just of 1976.

I've always enjoyed both immensely. But having to choose I'll go with 2112.

To say one is "better" than the other is subjective and all comes down to ones opinion.

Rising was the better album.

Rainbow Rising; massively better in my opinion.
