His omnipotence consists only of him being the single most powerful being we shall ever encounter.  Nobody can do everything imaginable, not even God.  Please ignore the philosophers.

All-glorified?  What does that even mean?  The Bible does not claim that for God.

God knows it's better for us to deal with him than to fantasize about idols.  He uses the term "jealous" because jealousy is something we understand.

The fact that God is jealous shows He has emotions and great love for His children. If God did not love His children, He would not care what you did. But He does care and that is one of the many great things about God, His love for His children.

God is Jealous of your love. He wants your love.

1 John 4:8 “He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.”

This means He does not want His creatures to worship other gods besides Him because those gods would be false gods.  The One True God is omnibenevolent and only He is deserving of worship.  While God has no need of our worship, it is good for us to worship Him and bad for us to worship idols.  God is just--He rewards good and does punish evil.

He gets jealous when his people defect from him. Someday, when you get your first girlfriend, and someone is a little too friendly with her, you will understand.

People in the US (and maybe elsewhere) confuse the words 'jealous' and 'envious'.  Envious is when you want something someone else has.  Jealous is when you're afraid someone is going to take away something you have.

The God of Abraham is said to be a 'jealous' God because he wants control, he wants all the prerogatives.  When people behave like God (we say they're 'playing God'), then God gets jealous because they are taking away his leadership, his mastery of the situation, his control.

He's jealous of nothing. However, he does want your complete undivided attention... or else!

Narcissists want all of the attention.

  • Clearly, the other, even more all-powerful gods.

Idk. If he's omnipotent, why would he demand people to pray to him?
