Do I have to ask Jesus to come into my heart to be saved?

You can ask him in any way you feel comfortable.  But first off, we have to know what sin is and why it is offensive to God.  Sin is anything that is the opposite of what is God's nature.  For example the secular world condones sex outside of marriage, while God does not allow this.  The bible tells us all we need to know about what sin is so we can fight against it.  Second, we have to admit to God that we are sinners and do not deserve his grace.  Then we ask him to forgive us our sins and repent (meaning to turn away or change our mind about), and ask him into our life.  The key is we have to be sincere when we come to him. Below is a link that will help you along.  The prayer below goes something like this:

**Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life.

I suggest the Life Application Study Bible, New Living Translation.  It will answer your questions and tell you to help you along with your journey. I hope you make that decision for Jesus Christ.  He is the ONLY way to Heaven.

You don't have to word it that way.  But you do have to tell Jesus that you know you are a sinner and you are sorry for your sins, you know He loves you, and that you need Him and want to be His.

Believe me, He WILL hear you.  I know, because He heard ME, blessed be the precious name of Jesus Christ 😃

Agent, there's no special formula.  Just talk to the Lord, whether out loud or silently doesn't matter.  Just let the words tumble out of you.  He understands that we have trouble believing He exists, and/or that He loves us.  That's why, if we ask Him, He will literally GIVE 🎁 us the faith to believe in Him (John 1:12, Ephesians 2:8-9).

There's more to salvation than that.

If you are interested in how to become a Christian (and thus be saved from your sins so that you can go to heaven rather than hell), read the following scriptures and you’ll figure it out. It’s not complicated.

    Jn 3:5,16; Lk 13:3; Mt 10:32-33; Rom 10:9-10; Mk 16:16; Ac 2:38; 10:47-48; 22:16; Rom 6:3-4; Gal 3:26-27; 1Pet 3:20-21; Rev 2:10; 2Tim 2:15; 2Pet 1:5-10.

Below are some examples of people who became Christians.

    Ac 2:40,41,47; 8:12,26-39; 9:17-18 (22:16); 10:47-48; 16:15; 16:30-33; 18:8; 19:1-5.

    Good luck and God bless.

It would be VERY interesting to have Jesus come into a test tube, instead, and have a careful analysis of the sample, to find out if, in fact, there is NO EVIDENCE in His DNA of Him having had a HUMAN father.

I asked Jesus to come into my heart more than 40 years ago. Since then, I have experienced the Holy Spirit helping me to know how to follow Jesus and helping me to be able to do so when I try.

God alone can judge who is saved, or say with authority what the rules truly are. But asking Jesus to live in your heart and save you is the only way of being saved that I trust, personally. And anyone can do that. So I recommend you do it today.

I hope this answer is helpful.
