Which 1991 album is better: Nirvana's Nevermind or Pearl Jam's Ten?

It seems the popular consensus is that Nevermind was better. To me, they were both really important, and both classics. That said, hearing "Smells Like Teen Spirit" for the first time, when I was 13, and feeling like "Here is something completely new!" was a more iconic and important moment than any moment I experienced with the songs of "Ten." I also immediately bought Nevermind, whereas I didn't buy Ten until maybe 92 or 93. Now, to me, the songs of Ten, notably "Black," "Jeremy," "Why Go," and "Even Flow" are equally as evocative of powerful feelings, and of a distinctive time, as "SLTS," "Lithium," "Come As You Are," and "Something In The Way." I also think the songs of Ten, themselves, if not the iconic image and controversial persona of their frontman, were as important as those of Nevermind, to music that came later, if not more so. So I'm going to take a controversial stance here, and, despite the fact that I love both albums, and in slight contradiction of my 8th- and 9th-grade self, say that Ten is the better album in overall importance and rock greatness, but only by a hair-thin margin.

Well, out of those albums, I only know Smells Like Teen Spirit & Come as you Are from Nirvana, and Jeremy form Pearl Jam. my favorite Pearl Jam song is probably Daughter. But to answer your question, Nevermind is the better of the two.
