Gun Control Supporters, what do you think of this?

Yes, gun control will reduce gun violence, but are you willing to give up your freedom for safety? Especially with a government that loves to bully the lower/working class?

The people's right to possess firearms stemmed from the Founding Fathers' strong opposition to sovereign rule; "That whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it, and to institute new government." The militia was meant to balance the power between government and people; that the militia would be able to oppose the military was central to the right to bear arms. They did not take into account that weapon technologies would change, and that the military now far surpasses the abilities of the people, even if armed. It is important to understand that guns now cannot be equated with freedom, and only provide the user with a false sense of security. Rights come with responsibilities; the US makes up 4% of the world's population, but its civilians own over a third of world's private firearms. If they cannot be used on the government, citizens inevitably end up using guns on each other, under unstable conditions. The US has one of the highest rates of gun violence in the world; an anomaly among first-world countries.

Isn't freedom a result of safety?

When crime rates in the US are similar to Canada, except for murder, wouldn't it be a good idea to copy some of their policies?

I have dug drainage ditches with dynamite in places where it was no possible to bring in heavy equipment when it was still legal to buy the stuff legally. It is a lot of fun and you can argue that dynamite is mostly used for peaceful purposes, but would it be a good idea to allow any one to go in and buy a box load of explosives?

Where do we draw the line?  What would satisfy hunters, farmers, etc and at the same time make it more difficult for criminals/terrorists to get their hands on weapons that we really don't want them to have?

You don't understand gun control.  It just means you have to have to have a background check before you can buy a gun. Like to see if you have committed a major crime.

The claim that gun control will reduce gun violence is an opinion, not a fact.  And I am unwilling to give up any essential liberty for a false sense of security because of an opinion based on wishful thinking.

Notice how liberals always think of penises when they hear the word “gun”?

Gun Control supporters just spent the last 4 years telling us President Trump was Hitler and a dictator.  And at the same time, they wanted to ban the weapons most suitable to help civilians resist a dictator.  Go figure!

How many times have you laid awake at night worried about your lack of freedom to buy hand grenades?

You're making the common mistake of equating gun control with an outright ban on firearms.

And that's not even addressing the delusion of thinking the government is afraid of your guns.

I can protect my family with my .38 and my .30-06, if need be, and if I'm there before my family or me is assaulted. I don't need a high capacity or semi-automatic to prove my richard size.
