I’m very Covid safe, and a high risk relative is not. She scolds me for being safer than her. Am I wrong?

    It's entirely up to you.

With the scattershot approach that the US (not sure where you are) has taken to mandating precautions, we have had to make our own risk assessments and take precautions that we feel necessary.

You know very well you're not wrong, so why are you even asking?

    Just ignore her.

I have a friend who is the same.

Her husband goes to work every day in a small office (14 people), they don't wear masks at work.

She will go to Walmart on a Saturday afternoon.

She likes to go in restaurant dining.

I go out more than her but in significantly less risky ways.

weekday shopping about 30 minutes before the stores close

outside dining only with at least 8 feet between tables

I think she's wrong for scolding you about being safe. She also may not understand that you're at higher risk of contracting covid then her.

You can tell her that you care about other people more than she does and yo do not want to infect people that matter to you.  Its a subtle way to tell her she is being selfish. .

As long as you are not bothering her, you can do what you think best.

And it goes the other way too.  If she's not bothering you, she can do what she thinks best.

I think you already know the answer. Someone giving you a hard time for doing the right thing doesn’t make you wrong.
