What's with the increased attacks against Asian Americans?

In the US round about last summer the media started putting out a lot of statistics about income categories based on race/ethnicity. This was meant to show that US blacks generally have lower incomes than US whites. But these charts also showed that Asians as a category earn more than any other group. There may be some idiots in red states attacking Asians because of Trump's anti China rhetoric. But in a lot of places these are robberies gone wrong or just people responding to the reality that Asians are at the top of the income stats in this country. It's a similar reason to the excuses given for all the anti Jewish hate crimes that this nation has produced over the years.
