Yes and I understand bids are being put in by Guiffre Distributing, Meridian Moving and Storage, and by RE Michel Supplies. One of the 3 should get it so Yahoo Answers will be back soon.

Maybe we could crowd fund it. How much could it cost if they're shutting it down?

It's not for sale and has no value (or Verizon wouldn't be shutting it down)

Not really. There is no point. It's dead.

While it'd be possible, I can't see it happening. Verizon buying Yahoo was the straw that broke the camel's back. It'd been declining for years.

Yes they could. However I doubt that Verizon would be willing to sell the property or the name with it. It would mean that whoever bought Yahoo Answers would have a lot of work to do to make the site viable again. Also most sites has an average lifespan of about seven years. Something that Yahoo has well exceeded at now nearly fifteen years. As much as I'd like to see Yahoo Answers continue long into the future, it's not to be.
