Which is a worse way to treat someone who is shunning you or treating you like a lesser person?

Lashing out your anger and tempers at them over how you're feeling about them shunning you and treating you like a lesser person

or

Apologizing to them in hopes of getting of their good side and hoping they would apologize to you for their behavior

I guess I have to know who is doing this and why. If I am at fault, I would profusely apologize. However, if I am not forgiven or if it is a situation where the person just does not like me for what ever reason - just treat civilly and nothing more. Show manners but there is no reason to be extra nice or even extra mean. I guess I’d treat them like a salesman I don’t trust or a tax collector or the meter lady. Enemies happen. You can’t be friends with everyone. Worry more about getting your validation in life from the people that are important to you.

If you have something to apologize for, apologize sincerely. Tell them how you feel in a calm collected way. 'Lashing out' is rarely effective.

Don't apologize just to get them to like you again. That's not good for either party, it isn't genuine, and is perpetuating insincerity and fakeness.
