Should I be held responsible for losing my AirPods?

We visited our new house in Mexico and I brought my AirPods to my house and we have been staying here for 4 days. The day I lost them I wasnt in the house and I left my AirPods on my bed where they have been for the past 4 days. A family friend helped cleaned our house since it has been cleaned in a long time. I was not in the house at the time and when I got back I couldn’t find my airpods because that friend cleaned our room and moved everything. She has no recollection of seeing my airpods and I am sure I left them there because I saw them there that morning. My parents say its my fault, is it?
