    He didn't ruin my life but in 1982, my husband beat me tried to kill me and took off with our 31/2 year old daughter. 

    It took me 21 years to find her. This broke my heart. However,  I had to stay in a positive frame of mind so when I found her I would be the mother she needs and not a basket case.

    If I let that ruin me he wins. My life changed drastically.
