What should be done with the traitors who stormed the Capitol and took out police officers?

a fair trial  

Keep them locked up. 

The same thing that should be done to anyone who breaks into and destroys government property.

No more and no less.

Prison. The problem is, most of them have NO IDEA of the long-term damage they've done. Each step down the path of anarchy leads to another step---either forward, or back a square. Trump's brainwashed followers don't have the common-sense or the foresight to do anything other than double-down on their treasonous behavior and push forward. This is a danger that has to be dealt with harshly and fast. 

Charge them with sedation and give them the maximum, 20 years in prison. Start with the instigator, Donald Trump.

Took out officers? The one that died because he had a bad heart.  The rest of the officers actually remove the gates and waved them in and took selfies.
