    Nice idea but it also depends on the age of the child & how large the bridal party is. 

    My friend only had one bridesmaid (her sister) & the groom had his brother as best man. 

    Her son was ring bearer so he felt included in the bridal party and had a special role.

    Yes, it's a lovely idea to include the children in the wedding ceremony. This guy is going to be your son's stepfather, you know. Try to maintain a civil relationship with him.
