Do leftists realize there's a difference between criticizing Netanyahu for war crimes and criticizing the nation state of Israel?

There are loads of leftists online who claim that Israel shouldn't even exist. But they have no grounds for saying so.

The Jews have been the #1 most persecuted group throughout history. And since both the Christian and Muslim worlds have been adamant about killing Jews just for being Jews, then there's no reason why we can't give the Jews their own safe haven. When women complain about harassment at Gyms, we literally give them gyms that men can't enter. But as soon as Jews want a place where they can be free from people trying to murder them, it's suddenly too much.

It also wasn't an "illegal settlement." The UN is basically the government of the world and THEY were the ones who granted the Jews a safe haven. Unless your main point was that the UN, whose charter was based upon recognition of human rights, is wrong that is.... 🙄
