Do people use the News and Events or Politics sections of YA for facts or for opinions?

For me, it's always been to see what people think about the news, what about you?

I wouldn't use this place to assess the opinions of society.  God help us if the government ever did do that, they could do anything.

The great strength of YahooAnswers is that it is as much an Opinion site as it is an Answer site especially in those sections. As such it is (was) the last major place of free moderate and open (only lightly moderated) opinion on the Net.

Yes, even politicians and campaigns check it to see what the public may be thinking, but not no more. The public and Yahoo users will now be silenced for good.

I think that is 1 reason for Verizon (since taking Yahoo 2017) closing it, for sure.

But...the bigger reason is it just doesn't make Verizon any money (not supposed to) and Verizon is a soulless corporation with no sense of public duty.

Mostly yes and to help if i can we need some experience to kind of know the truth to help us make decisions , and reading the Sun newspaper is one of those false prophets among others .

Neither usually. Mostly I use them for entertainment. And I haven't been disappointed.  I have asked some questions about how things work in the UK in the news and events section. Got some good answers too. But mostly YA is for laughs.

I argued this last year, if you're looking for facts you would use wikipedia, you would not come here and listen to poundland overlords babbling about racial separation
