If you are running at 13.9 meters/second toward an object that is 300 meters away then it will take:

     (300 meters) / (13.9 meters/second)

     = (300/13.9)(meters)(second/meter)

     = 300/13.9 seconds

     = 21.6 seconds (3 sig. dig.)

If the moose is headed straight towards the border, the time to run 300 m at a speed of 13.9 m/s will be (300 m)/(13.9 m/s) = 21.6 sec.
