Religious people, do you believe you made a difference in your time here on R&S?

    I really don't know.  I hope so.

Surely it is being closed because of the way the terrible intolerance, hatred, bigotry, homophobia and persecution posted by Christians towards others has driven so many away from God and into becoming antitheists‽

In general,  yes.  I've had my share of attacks, and trolls, but I've also had feedback from people I helped.

    Yes.

    - I believe I have given information to some people that they have understood, verified, and therefore (now) have a better understanding of the topic

    - And: the same is true for me. I have been given information from some people that was precisely-worded, verifiable, and thus changed my formerly-mistaken ideas on that subject

Of course, there are a lot of people who stubbornly refuse to believe the truth (even when verifiable - in fact, even when you provide verification)

    and

there are a lot of people who are seemingly unable to comprehend some truths (which is no surprise, but sometimes even concepts that seem relatively simple to me seem beyond the understanding of particular people).

I probably won't ever know. The vast majority of atheists here had already made up their mind about Christianity and only came to antagonize and make fun of others for believing it. However not everyone fits that mold. If just one person read anything I posted with an open and receptive mind, it was worth it. If not, it was still worth it. After all, my job is to tell you the truth, not make you believe it.

“Not all of us can do great things, but all of us can do small things with great love”—Mother Theresa of Calcutta

Some of the conversions here will just never show up on the “scorecard”. They happened, I saw them. Maybe the random person who logged on at 3 a.m. A teenager discerning a call to the priesthood received words of encouragement. The conversions did happen
