  • bloody diarrhea in 8 month old puppy?

I would like to start by asking that you keep respectful, I do not need to hear crude remarks.

Our 8 month old puppy has always been healthy, until this afternoon. I noticed that her bowel movements we're a bit bloody. As the afternoon continued, she began vomiting, and then I noticed the bloody diarrhea, actually it seemed like it was just blood.

Since it is the Holiday, our local Vet office is closed until Saturday morning, and believe me when I say that I will be there as they open their office doors.

But still, I am worried to death about my puppy. She has been drinking plenty of water, but her diarrhea continues to be blood.

I have no idea what the cause is, I am sure there are a million different possibilities....

She doesn't seem to be too lethargic, but I have her in a separate room to keep her activity limited.

What else can I do to help her through the night and through Christmas day?

Please, I already know that I need to get her into a vet...but any other advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have an entire day before I can seek medical help for her...I need to ensure that she will be alright and I will do anything to help her that i can.

Websites all say the same thing...get her to a vet.

But there has to be some home remedies that I can try to at least help her through the night/day.

Please, any suggestions, and advice would greatly ease my mind right now.

  • Pussing/Bleeding Bump on Dogs belly, Help?

    http://img87.imageshack.us/img87/4263/dogbelly.jpg

We have had a pup for a few months now; a 'scabbed' bump appeared on her belly a couple months after we got her. Our vet said it was likely a 'foxtail' that was trying to get out; so we followed his advice by applying warm, damp rag to it, making sure it was clean, and using en E-collar.

    Now, a few months later:

We have noticed that there are a few more bumps appearing, and that the "main" bump has returned and SPLIT! It has been oozing puss and blood-like (I imagine it's blood...) substances. We took her to the vet yesterday and he said that it is just more foxtails; which makes NO sense. We live in an area where she CANNOT get into any; and her regular walks go nowhere near anyplace that would have foxtails on the ground, so that rules it out.

Since my vet is closed I would like some thoughts. Any help is appreciated!!

    Thanks!

  • feline upper respiratory infections?

We adopted a four month old kitten this last week from our local Shelter. She was spade and has been under our complete supervision for the few days we have had her in our home. However, we recently noticed that she has been sneezing a lot lately. We assumed that it was due to the weather change, with warmer weather and flowers blooming we just thought that it could be allergies to pollen or dust.

Well, assuming it would stop after a day or two...it hasn't.

    -sneezing

    -nasal discharge

    -running eyes

    -diarrhea

all of her symptoms. she did have her first distemper shot, and the vet instructed us that she needed no other shots for another two months, when she would be old enough for them.

Our other cat, 10 month old Male, has also started t show the same symptoms...he has never been ill before.

We separated them, to prevent spreading any further infection to one another.

I have been researching the symptoms, and it points to the feline upper respiratory infection, but I thought that the distemper shot prevented this?

What else could this be and how worried should I be right now?

I really don't want to rush both of them to the Vet for sneezing, but I don't want it to progress into something much worse.

The sites have have read through about the Feline respiratory infection seem to say that it's not much to worry about, that they get over it like we would a cold?

how accurate do you think that is?

How can I help them before taking them into a Vet, or is there anything I can do to help?

    Thank you for your help!

  • Kitten managed to tear her stitches out?

My female kitten whom is four months old was spade last Friday and the Vet instructed us to limit her activity for two weeks. Well, over night she must have had piked at her tummy or played a little too rough. When I woke this morning I found her belly as bleeding and her stitches wear torn, not longer in place.

So, I called my vet, but their office is closed until Monday.

What should I do to help her out until Monday?

I have her in a separate room away from our other cat, but should I cover her belly with a gauze pad or put any antibacterial medicine on it?

any one who has ever had this problem with their cat, please give any tips you found helpful!

I want to make her as comfortable as possible.

Thank you for any help you can offer!

  • 1995 F150 Ford truck mechanical problems?

We have a 1995 F150 Ford truck, and for the past month it has been giving us some issue's. Bare with me, I know nothing about vehicles so I will attempt to describe this to the best of my knowledge and ability!

When we go to start the truck, it makes a clicking noise, but doesn't start. The Lights and stereo do turn on though. We replaced the Battery thinking that was the cause, however it continues to do this. We eventually get it to start, turning the key in the ignition over and over again. But this has started to become an every day occurrence, even with the new battery.

Does any one know what this could be?

And if you happen to know about how much it normally cost to replaced/fixed?

I always worry that mechanics over charge those who don't know much about vehicles.

    Thank you for your help!

  • anyone that is knowledgeable with mechanic work for trucks?

My Husband and I have a Ford F-150 1995, and recently have had some mechanical problems with it. For the past month it has given us problems with starting up, so we assumed that it was time to replace the battery. However, replacing the battery did no good, we still seem to have the same issue with it not starting. We assumed that the cold weather could had been the issue as well, but now that it has warmed up a bit, we still have the problem!

so, a friend took a look at it, and suggested that it might be the alternator.

Before we go to a mechanic, I was just wondering what the ball park price would be to fix/replace this part? so that we aren't over charged or what not.

we were told about $175, how accurate do you think this is?

I this a part that we could fix on our own for less?

if so, how difficult would that be?

    Thank you for your help!

  • how to stop a cat from bitting objects?

My cat is 7 months old and has a horrible habit of bitting things. I would assume that this is normal to an extent, but my cat bits and chews on the most random objects, like our lap top computer screen and furniture. So i was wondering what i could do to stop him from doing this? we have toys for him, and he enjoys playing with them. He is well feed, and he gets plenty of attention, so this isn't the reasoning for his behavior.

Do cats teeth? if so, when do they grow out of it?

are there special toys that we can buy him to help him with this, like dogs have bones and raw hides?

thank you for your knowledge and advice!

A car with two broken headlights drives towards the dog but turns in time to avoid hitting him. How could the driver have seen the dog in time?

  • who thinks they can solve this riddle?

Brad stared through the dirty soot-smeared window on the 22nd floor of the office tower. Overcome with depression he slid the window open and jumped through it. It was a sheer drop outside the building to the ground. Miraculously after he landed he was completely unhurt. Since there was nothing to cushion his fall or slow his descent, how could he have survived the fall?

  • my dog has ring worm, how can i help?

we adopted a chihuahua from our local shelter, and after a week of having her in our home she has a resent out break of ring worm. we do have a cat, he has been with us for about 7 months though, and we have never had ring worm issues with him, so we know that she must have caught it from the shelter. when i called the shelter, they showed no concern, and told me that all they could do was put her down...which is so cruel considering this is something that is treatable. so, after searching online, i have discovered that ring worm is a pain to get rid of. we were told to keep her in a separate room, and to keep it cleaned with bleach, as well as keeping an anti fungal cream on her out breaks. however, it does not seem to be improving much, and sadly we can not afford vet treatment. so i am wondering if anyone knows of any other home treatment i can try, maybe an over the counter medicine or home remedy. also, our cat has been exposed to the ringworm now, and although he has no out breaks, i am worried he will. how can i prevent him from contracting it?

  • what will happen if caught shoplifting?

a friend of mine was caught shop lifting at our local wal mart. he only had about five dollars worth of items on him, so they took him into their back room, wrote down his information including his address and driver license number. they told him they wouldn't call the police, nor would they press charges. my concern i guess, will he receive a citation, or what will the store do about his since it was a minuet amount? they did take a photograph of him, what does that do? is he now black listed from the store?

  • My kitten ate a wasp that flew in our house today, should i be worried?

a pretty good sized wasp flew into our house today, and before i could kill it my two month old kitten grabbed it and had sallowed it before i could get it away from him.

should i worry about the wasp stinging his stomach or throat?

i have been watching him very closely to monitor any change of behavior, but nothing has come to my notice yet.

should i be worried or is this a common thing for kittens to eat bugs?
