What are some great youtube live concert clips?
Doesn't matter what genre or why you think its amazing, just make it one of the videos that stopped you in your tracks. I've got an open mind at the moment and what to explore sounds both inside and outside of metal.
If its an hour long concert, excellent, but tell me a minute range to really watch out for as time is limited these days...
Bonus points if you write a little excerpt that explains why you liked it so much.
Note:
Budding musicians are fully allowed to give links of themselves as well, but only if they feel their music should be a part of this list.
3 AnswersRock and Pop7 years agoHow many pictures do you have of yourself?
Just you. Not including you with friends and family... But include pictures with pets (though I know they should count as both friends and family)
BQ: Gender
BQ2: Age
The numbers don't have to be exact obviously, but a rough guesstimate would suffice. And my sincere thanks to all for participating in my little study in advance.
7 AnswersGender Studies8 years agoMetalheads Unite 5. Any amazing songs released in the last year?
Bored? Looking for new music? Well here we are again, but with rules this time for our three metal songs...
In light of new stuff from bands like Suffocation, Nails, Devourment, Darkthrone, and the like, I have been Inspired to ask of you three amazing tracks from albums released in the last year (Any 2012-13 is fine). Again, any sub-gere...
Some that I have found:
1) Timor et Tremor - Solstice
Ultra Melodic tremolo picked pagan black metal from Germany. In every way this album should bore me as it has all been done before, but still I immensely enjoyed it... Even had trouble singling out one song for this purpose.
Timor et Tremor - Solstice

2) Ketha - Blob
Hailing from Poland Ketha is a Math inspired techy Death Band. Strange and experimental stuff going on. Their 2007 release was killer as well...
Ketha - Blob

3) Undergang - Kloakkens Afkom
Sludgy down-tempo Danish Death Metal resembling the mass of Doomy Death Finnish bands of the 90's. Their full length last year was impressive and even better was their debut, but this split with Funebrarum was simply phenomenal. Don't miss either song from this split album!

After another amazing concert last night in Seattle, I have been inspired to ask you guys about rad performances you've seen in person.
In typical fashion I have three songs, but I'm cheating and just doing shows I've seen this year so far. Starting with last nights closer:
1) Krieg - Fallen Princes Of Sightless Visions...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EMzzlS29bK0
2) Om - Bhimas' Theme

3) Neurosis - Given to the Rising
2 AnswersRock and Pop8 years agoMetalheads Unite 4. Know three amazing songs?
Bored? Looking for new music? Well I figured I'd take it upon myself to make use of this place for the benefit of us all. Go out or dig deep and find three amazing metal songs...
Have obscure music people should hear? Have a song by a band everyone knows that you think is overlooked? Share them! No rules, and any metal sub-genre.
1) Setherial - Över Det Blodtäckta Nord
Nord... is a classic Black Metal album. That is all I need to say, now listen:
Setherial - Över Det Blodtäckta Nord

2) Rotten Sound - Obey
Crunchy, Deathy Grindcore from Finland. Was planning on putting an ***ück song here, but earlier in the day this song came on at the gym and, well, it instantly transformed my decision.
Rotten Sound - Obey

3) The Body - A Curse
Another band residing in my neck of the woods, though further south in Portland. Not sure on genre, Sludgy Doom with wailing Depressive Black Metal vocals perhaps? A true force live, don't miss the chance to catch these two making lots of noise next time they come to a seedy little bar near you.

1) Master's Hammer - Útok
Proof that black metal had variation before Norway reigned supreme in the genre. Admittedly, it wasn't until the early 00's that I had actually heard of Master's Hammer. Ritual remains a Kvlt album if there is such a ridiculous thing, and is pretty much unanimously heralded by all fans of the genre.
Master's Hammer - Útok

2) Mitochondrion - Parasignosis
Black/Death Insanity. Fans of Antediluvian and Portal... well they already know of Mitochondrion, and so should you. Helps that these boys are from my neck of the woods so I have had the privilege of seeing them live more than a few times.
Mitochondrion - Parasignosis

And yeah, its not for everyone.
3) Kalmah - Heritance Of Berija
Melodeath through and through. Kalmah gets so much attention from The Black Waltz, and 12 Gauge I wanted to throw light on why I liked them to begin with... Swamplord. I'll shut up and let Antti Kokko prove why he caught my attention back when I couldn't seem to stop listening to Destroy the Opposition.

1) Waldgeflüster - Kapitel III: Fichtenhain
Black metal that is definitely on the atmospheric side. If I'm not mistaken this was the album they created after backpacking and were inspired to create an album recreating their experience. Luckily for me, they seem to side step the folky sound a lot of bands over utilize, yet still incorporate acoustic and clean singing.

2) Pandemonium - Necro Judas
Imagine Belphegor slowing down to make a doom inspired atmospheric piece and your about where this song stands. The layered guitars and ghoul inspired vocals make this a piece worthy of your attention.
Well yet another song not on youtube, here's another, anyway:
Pandemonium - Misanthropy
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ADA8xkt2mc
I did enjoy this one as well, just differently. Still suggest Necro Judas if you can find it elsewhere. But in Misanthropy the female vocalist singing throughout gives the song a different feel (Not bad, just different).
3) Aghora - Satya
Bass players rejoice and listen to a staggering piece of "jazz infused" progressive metal.
Aghora - Satya
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6nJmf7kHy8
I will say I have always had a soft spot for the female voice coupled with the harshness of metal's distorted guitars (Unfortunately its always tucked away in either metalcore or gothic metal). But here all that comes second...

My three? Well since you asked nicely...
1) Urkaos - V
Orthodox black metal to be sure along with a few ambient sections, but has the ever essential rawness that makes this guy stop and take notice. All this from a Swedish Ep released in 2012? I suggest a listen while you read:
Well great. Wouldn't you know it? Youtube doesn't have it, well here's two others for the inconvenience:
Urkaos - IV
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=so9-QXalV9g
Urkaos - VI
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M1H7SdEMcq8
A release such as this is all about atmosphere, and Urkaos do a phenomenal job helping you visualize their dark and chaotic conjuration. Add to it rather unconventional vocals.
2) Sotajumala - Elaman Vihollinen
Fast, relatively brutal Finish Death Metal. The drumming on Death Metal Finland is about as good as you can find, add to it some big riffs and intense shredding. I can't help but think of this being Finlands attempt at creating the classic Florida sound.
Sotajumala - Elaman Vihollinen
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vAAuDveuJBg
3) Cult of Luna - Adrift
Definitely sludgy post-hardcore with a few other subtle influences. First I heard them I thought of Neurosis. Not sure why but this was the first song of theirs that grabbed me and wouldn't let go.
Cult of Luna - Adrift

4 AnswersPhilosophy9 years agoDo you prefer the copy or the original?
We quite often encounter copies of significant men; and, as also in the case of paintings, most people prefer the copies to the original.
