Metalheads Unite. Will you help me find new music?
Bored? Looking for new music? Well I figured I'd take it upon myself to make use of this place for the benefit of us all. Go out or dig deep and find three amazing metal songs... No rules and any sub genre. If you enjoy it post it.
My three? Well since you asked nicely...
1) Urkaos - V
Orthodox black metal to be sure along with a few ambient sections, but has the ever essential rawness that makes this guy stop and take notice. All this from a Swedish Ep released in 2012? I suggest a listen while you read:
Well great. Wouldn't you know it? Youtube doesn't have it, well here's two others for the inconvenience:
Urkaos - IV

Urkaos - VI

A release such as this is all about atmosphere, and Urkaos do a phenomenal job helping you visualize their dark and chaotic conjuration. Add to it rather unconventional vocals.
2) Sotajumala - Elaman Vihollinen
Fast, relatively brutal Finish Death Metal. The drumming on Death Metal Finland is about as good as you can find, add to it some big riffs and intense shredding. I can't help but think of this being Finlands attempt at creating the classic Florida sound.

3) Cult of Luna - Adrift
Definitely sludgy post-hardcore with a few other subtle influences. First I heard them I thought of Neurosis. Not sure why but this was the first song of theirs that grabbed me and wouldn't let go.
Cult of Luna - Adrift
Excellent stuff already! I'll keep this open and be back when the question closes for another "Metalheads Unite" (Search for it should it interest you).
In the meantime keep those ears open for more rad music...

Great topic! Here's 3 songs that I enjoy from more obscure bands.
1. Vanir - Thryfing
Folk Metal from Denmark. This song is filled with bagpipes, it even has a bagpipe for the solo!

2. Carcariass - Watery Grave
Technical Death Metal from France that manages to be very melodic and technical at the same time.

3. Star One - Songs of the Ocean
Spacey Progressive Metal from the Netherlands. The song is about the 4th Star Trek Movie, The Voyage Home. Very nice synths. Save the Whales!

1) "Sculptor of Flesh" by 1349
A Norwegian Black Metal band taking their name from the year that the first cases of the Black Death were recorded in Scandinavia.

2) "Suffer The Red Dream" by Novembers Doom
An American Death/Doom Metal band who've over time become one of my favorite American bands. Their music takes time to fully appreciate, but once you see what the allure is, you never want them to lose it.

3) "Where The River Ends" by Otep
An American Nu Metal band. I generally avoid Nu Metal, but I felt that I should include one of the bands that got me into Metal. With their songs of madness, betrayal, and suffering, Otep drew me in and introduced me to a whole new world of music and poetry. I chose one of their more powerful songs. This song is about women being treated as inferior, and the responses of the characters portrayed.
