  • Friend Issue?

I helped a friend build a deck. I gave him a good deal for much less than my going rate. I told him from the start I will charge him hourly rate plus materials and gave him an estimated price of 5 thou for everything at the end of it.

It took much less time than I planned but I told him at the end that my price doesnt change as I a already gave him a steal that he agreed to already. He is being petty because he recorded my hours and after materials I ended up profiting more per hour instead of the original rate.

    Our friendship is strained now.

    What should I do?

  • Is this cheap or frugal?

Wealthy parents inherited millions and retired 18 hours away from adult kids and young grandchildren to live in a cheaper area and collect a hefty bank account. They missed being in their grandchildren's life not because they couldn't afford to be closer, but because they didn't want to spend the money unless they could steal a house from someone under a bank foreclosure.

    Cheap... or just frugal?

  • Do you see a pattern?

I mainly communicate with my cousin through social media lately, and I'm just wondering if anyone think any of these would make u think she is having marital problems, if any? She has been married for 11 yrs with 3 kids. If so, which one(s) raise a flag?

    1. She doesnt wear her wedding ring in her photos anymore

    2. She posts "gratitude" moments, recognizing everyone individually in her life (ie. sister, bro-in law, mom, dad, kids).... but not husband.

    3. She frequently posts family photos during different holiday get-together. Includes everyone from her kids to extended family..... but never the husband.

    4. She posts a photo of a fireplace. Comments underneath saying "current relationship status... hot. I can't wait to sleep beside my hot date tonight, lol.. #funnyhumor #relationshipgoals #hotdate #mypresentsituation

    5. Valentine's Day she posts a humorous quote about having a date for Valentine's Day...Feb14th... then commenting that she hopes everyone enjoys the day (including herself)... #valentineshumor #singlelife #funwisdom.

She did recognize her husband recently by posting a pic of their son dressed nicely, and gave him credit for it... but referred to him as "his father" rather than "my husband". I also tried to ask if everything's ok and she was pretty bubbly and didn't come across like anything was wrong?

I dunno, what do u think?

    Thanks

  • Cousin Issue?

I used to play cards with my cousin and a few of his friends frequently

After a 2-yr break, his friend texted me to invite me to a game at his place which was a 2 mile drive up the road. I happily accepted.

I called my cousin (who lives an hour away) & he was getting a ride from another friend and they were gonna to be driving past my street to go the game. I asked if they could pick me up; I'd even buy them dinner on the way. My cousin said no without even asking the driver. I was puzzled and said they will be driving by my place anyway, and I'll walk home after the game. He still said no without explanation.

As the game got late I intentionally lost and told everyone I had to go. My cousin speaks up, telling me to wait so I can drive him home. I sat there to myself silent as my cousin continued to play. I got frustrated and called him out in front of everyone that he manipulated me all this time so I would drive him home an hour away after the game, that's why he wouldn't pick me up in the first place. He said forget it and another friend offered to drive him home.

The next day I called my cousin to apologize for my frustration and he was mad at me; mad that I would even suggest he would do something like that by using me, mad that I would call him out in front of his pals - He turned it on me. Thereafter he told everyone I was cut off of coming to any more card games.

I am a little hurt by this, and wondering how I should take this?

    Thanks for listening

  • Is this presumptuous?

A lady I know has a fb page dedicated to fitness/motivational. One of her inspirational examples she chose to share was how she was in a store and overheard 2 women talking negatively.. she chose to pipe up & basically when on a spiel about being positive.... it resulted in the women laughing and walking out of the store "inspired" & rejuvenated ss though Jesus just blessed them.

What would u do if someone like this approached u?

Is it pesumtious or just a load of bs?

  • Is it normal to be suicidal?

I knew someone between the ages of 17-19... she would be normal one day... then the next shed break up with her bf over the phone, wanna kill herself, and sleep around with multiple guys. She aspired to be a dr... then dropped out of high school... then went back to get enough credits and settled on a 2 yr community college program.

Within 4 years she was married to someone new she met and had children by the age of 25.

Is suicide hormone related and common int een girls... or is it based on upbringing?

I knew her family and they all seemed very nice and loving.

  • Is it normal to be suicidal in high school?

Is it normal to be 17/18 yrs old and be suicidal as a female? I knew a girl who had clinical depression and would dump her bf all the time and date jerks and sleep with them. She would be normal some days.. then want to kill herself and not respect herself other days.

5/6 years later I found out she's married with her 2nd child (not the guy she was with in high school.)

Is this normal? By normal I don't mean COMMON.

  • Has anyone dumped their bf/gf in person when you were a teen?

I hear there is no age that condones breaking a relationship over the phone or text... it should be done in person only.... unless it is a short or long distance relationship.

However is there anyone out there who has broken it off with the bf/gf in person, when they were teenagers? It's easier to take the coward way out when you are a teen... isn't it?

  • Does dumping someone over the phone define you?

I was in a serious relationship with a girl and she dumped me over the phone... and blamed me for everything. It really upset me that she hid behind a phone and didn't feel that she owed me face to face.

If she talked about it in person and was sympathetic it would have changed everything.. but it really has strummed a nerve ever since.

I was told that it doesn't define her as a person to dump me over the phone and not to judge her. How doesn't this define a person if you don't value then?

  • Dumping over the phone?

I was hurt when my first love dumped me over the phone and she is married now with kids which slaps me in the face more.

I was told that dumping someone over the phone doesn't define the person and they shouldn't be judged for it... but how does it NOT define someone? I'm disrespectful, selfish, cowardice and abandon people I share a bed with and say I love.... but I'm a nice person...

    that doesn't make sense.

Can someone explain. How something like this doesn't define someone?

  • Are u ok with be in dumped over the phone?

I was dumped over the phone by my first love... and I was a fool to take her back ...only to have her do it again. She even blamed me for everything.

For some reason I'll always remember how disrespectful it was.... now she is married with kids and it's just a bigger slap in the face.

  • Getting dumped over the phone?

Is it OK to get dumped over the phone? I mean if you had a serious relationship... not a long distance one.

When I was younger my first love dumped me 3 times over the phone... and blamed me for the break up each time.

As I get older I think more and more how disrespectful it was considering we were serious. The fool I was to take her back and wish I had the chance to say/do differently when she came back...but it never happened.

Now she is married with kids and I think "how are u married when u have no respect for a person."

  • Female Advice Please?

There was a girl who worked as a receptionist at my Dr's office. I really hit it off with her well... she made me forget about my ex who I struggled to get over for a long time.

I decided to call her at work and ask if I could call her sometime. She was genuinely flattered... excitement in her voice saying "OMG thank you so much". She then whispered her number to me to call her later.

I called her the next day and got her voice mail saying she is out of town for a few days. I left a message.... gave it a week and she never called. I called back and left another message... it's been months and she never replied. Ive moved on now but can't help but think at times.... what would cause her to give me her number and never call me back? If she had a bf that would have been the easiest excuse if she wasn't interested.

    Insight is appreciated

  • building on land you don't own?

These people built a dock on the city's property, on the other side of the road front their lakeview home. They put signs saying "no trespassing private" with a gate in front of the dock.

Is this technically their property considering they paid for the materials on it... so nobody else is allowed to use it? Or can anyone use it since the land isn't owned by them? Take a vehicle... you can park it at a store or on the side of the road. .. that doesn't mean anyone can go inside it right?

  • Bank dispute?

I took money out of my branch machine and it never gave me the cash but it withdrew from my account.

The manager said the problem should correct itself by the next day and he would call me to confirm.

5 days passed and he never called. I called him and he never replied. I called his boss and left a message too.

After about 1 week the money finally went back into my account. The bank never contacted me or even apologized.

Being that the bank would unconditionally charge me interest for not making a payment anytime, I wonder if I should try and tell them to pay me the accrued interest for every day they failed to pay me back?
