  • Why won’t Nvidia drivers with my ASUS ROG G752VL?

I have tried all of the online hints/tips from YouTube/Nvidia/ASUS and I still get either a black/blank screen, logo screen garbled, or garbled logo screen with a black screen immediately.  I got the laptop in essentially brand new condition and now I know why. I am ready to resell as-is and never own another ASUS again. Again, I have tried virtually every suggestion that I could find.  I don’t need an unstable laptop as my main one.  Am I missing something?

  • Why is my LG TV stuck on device reboot/factory restore screen?

I just replaced the main board on my LG 55G-U2. It was stuck on the LG Cube startup screen. Now it is asking me to either device reboot or reset/restore factory settings. The remote control is unresponsive even after putting in fresh batteries. I got it secondhand and cannot find the solution online. I am completely clueless now.

  • Which ones to wear?

I usually wear 1.00 readers to look at my monitors for work. I have been told that I need to go up to 2.00 for reading small print. I have been given a prescription that can be filled as bifocals/progressives. I still have 20/20 distance vision and can drive just fine day/night. I was reviewing my options and got a bit flustered. I tire of switching glasses constantly. Should I get over the counter 2.00 readers, prescription readers, or progressives?

  • What is the pedal size for a 2008 Specialized Expedition Elite?

I made the mistake of being pedal-down during a fast/tight turn and scraped the pedal. I cannot find the service manual/real specifications like I did with my Dahon. It is a 2008 Specialized Expedition Elite with a large frame.

  • Why is my Sony Alpha 58 is not taking any pictures?

I picked up a Sony SLT-A58 for a very reasonable price recently. The previous owner told me that the Superior/Intelligent modes has issues in the daylight. I finally got around to trying this camera. I found out that is not taking any pictures in any modes. I have a Cybershot that works great. The Alpha takes videos just fine, but no pictures are on any of the SD cards (Class 10).

  • How do I stop neighbor's cat from leaving dead mice on our porch?

Our neighbor has two cats that pretty stay outside all of the time (their choice apparently). The owner takes care of them as they are not neglected. They are not feral or aggressive. Every other month, I walk out the front door and find a dead mouse either on the porch or in front of it. I have never fed, approached, talked to, petted, or made contact in any way with either cat. My fiancee doesn't use the front door, so only my son and I see the mice. I have sprayed Critter Ridder everywhere (it makes me sneeze and triggers an asthma attack), but the constant rain renders it useless essentially the next day. I have read that the cat(s) likes me and is/are leaving a "tribute." I do like animals, but I am really more of a dog person. Do I "grin and bear it" or is there some way to stop this behavior?

  • Why is my car underheating?

I have a 2000 Kia Sportage 4x4 that ran well until the the temperature went below 25 degrees F. My commute is 92+ miles a day (90% highway) and the temperature gauge does not rise above the "C" mark. The gauge rises to normal (below the halfway mark) whenever I am stopped for more than five minutes. In addition, the auto transmission never quite warms up when I am at speed and takes longer to shift to the final gear. Is this normal behavior for a Kia in colder weather? What are my options (outside of getting a new vehicle)?

  • How does one recover from a bad flash?

My best friend hack-flashed (updated firmware) his PC blu-ray burner in an attempt to make it "faster." He called me asking how to undo it. I told him to find the OEM flash to fix the issue. What are his options to remedy his problem?

  • Is a heavy leather jacket with a suit a fashion faux pas?

I have a "Structure 100% Heavy-Weighted leather jacket" and wear suits Monday-Friday. Can I wear a "three-quarter" length leather jacket as an overcoat to a business suit?

  • New Manager?

I am an inexperienced/new (less than a month) manager of a small group of workers. Administration seems to be targeting one of my employees. They have made statements to me about her not "grasping things." Her reviews have been stellar and she has been there for over six years. I believe that there is some animosity towards her (she is the only one of her race). This morning, HR confronted her for something that everyone else is doing (even HR!!!). I have no issues with her work ethic or personality. During my interview, it was stated that I would have to "let someone go" (sic) which was later retracted. How do I get to the root of the problem? Should I ask Administration exactly what they want me to do with her?

  • Angie* Bot Spam?

I never go visible on my YM, but I am constantly getting IMs from an "angie*" (the * meaning variations after the name). They constantly point me to some email address/website. It is very annoying having to ignore/block them as things seem as to get stuck. I even tried a global "angie*" on my blocked address list to no avail. Has anybody else had this problem? How did you deal with them?

  • Reading Comprehension?

My youngest son has problems with reading comprehension. He is in the eighth grade and has to pass the final exam to progress to the ninth. He will read a video game magazine until the cover is shopworn, but can barely get through a chapter in a novel. He admits that he has a hard time with understanding what he reads on a test. I am currently printing exercises from some educational websites and he sails through them and can give me the idea of the paragraph. I am a "mature" student and trying to be a role model to him. What more can I do a parent to increase his interest and comprehension level?

  • Haven't you ever misspoken or had a slip of the tongue?

Once again, the media (a powerful thing per Malcolm X) has nothing better to report/hype than an incorrect/ antiquated? Joe Biden didn't offend me because I am 'clean'-cut and articulate. And who appointed "Revs" Al and Jesse to be our spokesmen? Let it go already.

  • How can I ask for extended time off from a new manager that I hardly know?

I have been on my job for over two years without going on vacation as I have had to save my time for school (detailed below). I have not taken more than a day off at a time and only due to my car or a sick child. I had a good relationship with my last manager and felt comfortable asking her anything. I am a part-time student and have to do 64 directed practice hours for my degree program this spring. I have to do it when I am scheduled and it will be my last semester. It may be in a "two days here, two days there" fashion. This time will be taken as vacation on my part. I also have the opportunity to go on a week-long cruise in January. I do/will have the vacation hours/time to do both. Last month, a new manager came aboard and I feel intimidated to ask for the time to do both situations. We are on "production" and we found out that he is a "micromanager." Both events may or may not happen in rapid succession.
