1 AnswerSecurity3 years agoMy 74-year-old wife suffered a near fatal stroke about 3-weeks ago.?
When the stroke began, we didn't know what was going on. We could understand my wife's speech at that time. Her daughter took her to Marion (IN) General Hosp. About and hour later, MGH sent her to Ft. Wayne, IN Lutheran Hosp. We couldn't understand her speech by then. Lutheran Hosp. broke up, but couldn't completely remove a small clot on the left side of her brain. That was on a Thursday, she came home on Sunday. Since then, her speech is good, normal. She has some weakness on her right side i.e., lifting her arm. But she has trouble finding the right words during a conversation. She also has mood swings leaning toward anger. She's thinking I made fun of her during the initial stroke. Of course I didn't, but can't convince her of that. She is still angry with me. I brought her flowers home and she threw them away. She has an appointment with Lutheran this afternoon. Her daughter is going to take her, if my wife goes. These are typical results of a stroke? I'm guessing they are. The reason my wife's daughter, (my step-daughter) is taking her is because I work 3rd-shift. My wife is on Medicare/Medicaid, medical bills are not a major problem.
Your thoughts, please.
4 AnswersOther - Diseases3 years agoHow do you get rid of flying ants in a window air conditioner?
Chemicals are out of the question because my wife has COPD, and we have two small dogs, a cat and bird. (I know, the cat/bird is a bad combination. But it wasn't my idea!) The air conditioner is too heavy to lift out of the window, so I wrap it each winter. In the last four springs, we've had ants flying into the house through the a/c. Any suggestions?
3 AnswersOther - Home & Garden3 years agoWhat is a safe pesticide for my lawn that will not affect my dogs?
We have two small dogs that are driven nuts by insects in the lawn, as are we. I've been told both that Sevin Dust used on a lawn is safe, or it is not safe for pets in the lawn. I'm confused. I also heard an alternative on the NPR radio program "You Bet Your Garden". Some insight/experiences?

5 AnswersGarden & Landscape4 years agoWhat is best to treat my lawn against bugs that are driving my dogs crazy?
Our four small dogs have been treated with flea medicine so it isn't fleas, it is other bugs, (gnats?), driving them crazy. Itch and scratch. Our vet suggested Sevin Dust. It was always thought this was not good around animals. I've also heard IF you put something of this nature down, it needs to be watered, or rain within 24-hours. The bugs in question are not fleas. These have wings!
1 AnswerDogs6 years agoWhat do I need to know to make a bid on a mobile home?
My step daughter has her eye on a mobile home being sold by a private individual. The asking price is $3,000. The trailer sits in a mobile home court, so she would still have lot rent. I haven't seen it yet, but need an primer, education, if you will, on purchasing a mobile home. I know mobile homes are like cars, they don't appreciate in value like real houses. I am sure I need to find the make and model of the home as well as the year. What else do I need to know regarding offers, contracts, etc. I have the cash to loan to buy it outright, but I'm concerned about trailer ownership and the trailer court agreements. I've never done this before.
4 AnswersSmall Business7 years agoWhy does my bathroom whistle at me?
It sounds weird, I know; but occasionally a whistling sound comes from our bathroom. Flushing the toilet stops it for awhile. Also running bathtub will stop it. What's going on?
3 AnswersWords & Wordplay8 years agoHow do washing machines know how much water to fill?
This may sound silly, but seriously, how does a washing machine know the difference between a "large", "med" and "low" level of water for the amount of clothes?
5 AnswersCleaning & Laundry8 years agoWhat happened to "Radio Reference"?
"Radio Reference" was a website where one could listen to police, fire, EMT etc. It has been diverted. Any guidance?
2 AnswersMedia & Journalism8 years agoHow do you repair a brick sidewalk?
We had a water line break. Repair meant digging across our sidewalk, made of brick. I have the bricks. What is the best way to restore a brick sidewalk?
4 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs8 years agoWhy did my wife's auto insurance premiums go up after I got a DUI?
After I pleaded guilty to a DUI charge, my wife's auto insurance company refused to renew her policy. Because we are married, other insurance companies have either quoted her higher premiums or refused a quote for her based upon my mistake. We had separate insurance companies, I was driving my car, not hers. She was not in the car with me and had nothing to do with it. I was pulled over because my license plate light was burned out. I was not driving erratically, speeding or anything of that sort. I had not had any violations in 16 years and she hasn't in nearly 30-years. Why is my wife being "punished" for my mistake and how is it legal?
10 AnswersInsurance & Registration8 years agoI have forgotten my password for my Belkin router. How do I retrieve or change it?
My wife traded laptops and I can't get her hooked up. Tech support wanted to charge me $150! There's got to be another way!
3 AnswersComputer Networking9 years agoWe may acquire a second desktop PC. I have DSL modem and a router. Will I need a second modem?
Can I split a cable and run it to the second computer? Also, how do I see what's inside? "Start", then "Computer"? The seller, (he inherited it from a friend who passed away), wants me to wipe any personal file off.
3 AnswersComputer Networking9 years agoCan my Life.com be trusted?
I received an email from "my Life.com" saying an "old friend" was searching for me. It had my name, a street address was blacked out, but it had my correct city & state. It requested by email address and date of birth to find out who was searching for me. It also had people I am related to which I realized later can be found on "White Pages.com". After I filled this info out, it requested a credit card number. I stopped at that point. I have applications for jobs online and thought it was related to that until they wanted to charge me to find out who was looking for me. There is also another person with the same name that lives in my city that has had several financial problems I have been confused with. I have been summoned to court and contact the State over his problems to rectify the situation in the past. Have I made a mistake and compromised myself? I feel like an idiot!
1 AnswerYahoo Shopping10 years agoShould I sell or junk an old tiller?
I have an old Master-Till rotary tiller. It was running but then it wouldn't start. The starter rope broke but that has been repaired. It's just been sitting for 2 years. It has a Briggs & Stratton 5hp engine. I was debating whether to try and sell it or junk it. I don't know anything about Master-Till or their reputation. I would like to get some cash out it.
