There are requests to poke back from men and women. Does it have any particular meaning.

My basement flooded with up to a foot of water due to the city breaking a sewer pipe. I filed a loss claim with two estimates, a list of personal items lost and 92 photos showing mold, water damage and personal items lost (clothing). The letter states that the claim is subject to a one year Statue of Limitations. It further states that if I fail to resolve or pursue further legal recourse, the ability to do so will be forever lost. The two required estimates were $14,000 and $13,000 just for property damage alone. Lastly, the letter states that the claim is under investigation and that I will be contacted upon its completion. What should I expect? What should I do (if anything)? If you have any knowledge or experience in this area, please help. Thank you.

Will it damage my garage roof? Who can install it? Any recommendations? My nephews (ages 7 & 9) love to shoot hoops and have been making goals from paper boxes. The 9 yr old was thrilled to look at the roof top goal. Both will be back next yr for the summer vacation lasting one month. Is it a good investment?

Recently, my husband & I visited a 50 yr old teacher friend. He had several rooms that contained what looked like trash papers & clothing. He is a bachelor. His house was not well kept. I helped him sort the debris. I washed items for him. He kept a lot of it. In a 6 room house, he had furniture in only 2 rooms. He works during the summer to pay for dental bills. I think he needs a housekeeper. He seems grateful. What else can I do to help him?

My niece and my brother did not get along. I have her and her daughter living with me after her mother's death. She is alcoholic. I chose not to take my brother in because I thought he was doing alright since he had moved from a shelter to the YMCA. I was proud of keeping my house peaceful. But now, I wonder if I should have risked the turmoil. I feel that he may not have been in the situation to have been killed if he was in the same state with me. I don't know how I can comfort myself. Could this be survivor's guilt or did I make a mistake.

I forgot to take my husband s underwear out of the washer and started a new load. I did look on the bottom of the load before it started. The underwear was soaking wet because the water had began to pour for the new load. I don t want to break the dryer. Should I just go through the wash cycle again to spin the water out of the underwear. What do you recommend?

My neighbor says since he and his wife had the meter installed his water bill was $5. My water bill was $380. There are four people in this house. What do you think?

ComEd in Chicago invited customers to sign up for wifi/iPhone control of the air conditioning during peak hours of use during the hot months. It is supposed to result in savings. But I don t know anyone with the program. It has been announced on the news channels that ComEd will be the only provider of electricity in this city. There will be no competition. Let me know what you think. The options are join the program or don t join. There is little information. Thank you.

A bus driver transporting kids to college visits out of state told students not to put their SSN on the internet for any reason. So, my 17 year old niece will not put her SSN on any school job applications that she fills out online. I am afraid that she may not be considered for any position for the summer. What do you know about this situation.

I cannot unlock an AT&T iPhone 5s without the password to iCloud. I want to give the phone to my niece. My question is: Will she be able to unlock the phone when she chooses another carrier? Thanks for your response.

I have experienced the ringing in the ears many different times. It started again two months ago. It is louder when I eat or try to sleep. It seems louder in some rooms. I am not certain that it will go away again as it has many times. Now, I am aware that the sound was very low in some cases. Did anything help with this problem? Thanks for any input.

After accepting expensive gifts, nobody gave me one thing for Christmas. I am considering not giving gifts for the holidays.
