  • Headlight Dilema! What should I do? I need some kind of direction... I'm sorta in the dark?

    2010 Subaru Impreza

I noticed my passenger side headlight was out through a reflection on glass rather than sight quality on the road. Decided to replace both headlights at the same time. Bought the lights at an auto supply store and put the new bulbs in. Took a 4 minute drive and realized the lights were dim and my drivers side was smoking. Read online that the lights could have been exposed to oil *even though gloves were used* so I purchased two new lights and decided to try it again. I then realized the drivers side housing's seal had moved upon instillation, and the housing had slightly melted. Not too badly but there are three notches that the light clicks into and one of them has melted. I then discovered that the housing is not replaceable, I will need a whole new headlight. $$$ I have now gone one day without a drivers side light to give myself time to figure out what to do.

Should I try to dremel out the third notch and/or use a high grade heat resistant tape to secure the drivers light? Or just buy a whole new headlight? Any words from the wise??

Also the passenger side light is still super dim (even with lightbulb #2), my turn signal is brighter than this light is. There is something wrong, and this light is installed correctly. Any ideas on what could be going on, or how I could figure out what is going on?

I am super frustrated and don't know which steps to take without breaking my wallet or my vehicle.

    However, my passenger side light

  • Soy wax lotion bars are too soft?

I made lotion bars with 1 part soy wax, 1 part olive oil, and 1 part coconut oil. These hardened well in the fridge, but then when they got to room temperature they turned into something more of a body butter instead of a bar of lotion.

So, what I am looking for is a good ratio to make the bars solid.

    -soy wax

    -coconut oil

    -maybe olive or sunflower oil

    -essential oil

    Thank you!

  • Dog Breeding Records- Akita?

My boyfriend had an Akita pass away in December.

When his Akita was younger, before he got fixed, he was bred with a female Akita.

Is it possible to track down the pups?

How do I get breeding records for specific breeds?

Where would I start with this kind of quest?

  • Painted turtle hibernation?

    I have a 1500 gallon pond

    just got two painted turtles

we have koi and goldfish in the pond

we never let it freeze completely due to toxic conditions when leaves/etc deteriorate.

there are some rocks and general 'stuff' in the bottom of the pond for them, and in the fall the pond gets an awful lot of leaves and general debris.

    we live in ohio.

the pond is 3 feet deep.

if i need to i can bring the little guys in for the winter... we have the set up inside if need be.

if the koi and goldfish hibernate perfectly fine in the pond will the turtles be okay too?

if not- what can i do to make it more habitable for the turtles survival?

  • 11 year old dog has been pooping inside the house?

I have been to the vet, and he is in good health. A little arthritis, which he is taking medication for (pain pills and glucosamine). He has been pooping in the house quite frequently. We have been gentle about it, however, are getting frustrated with the situation. Especially when he goes outside, comes back in, and immediately poops. The vet suggested that since his blood work seems perfectly normal, that it may be him getting senile. Which makes sense. However, this doesn't help the fact that he poops in the house and is driving us bonkers with it.

Any suggestions on what we could do?

Any ideas of anything we are over looking? Is there anything he is trying to tell us? My thoughts are that if it was purely a case of him being senile wouldn't he be peeing in the house too??

    Thank you all...

  • black convict cichlids have recently had babies and taken over... for the love of humanity please help?

they killed some fish, they have a million frickin babies, and in consideration for the reproductive process I have been patient and kind to their freakishly large brood. However, they are now starting to just get on my nerves. So this is more than one question:

1- can aquarium snails live outside of water,

2- do the snails need a oxygen supply (the cichlids have started to brutally pick on it and i want to save it)

3- any suggestions on how to clean my tank without the parent cichlids eating me

4- any suggestions on how to clean the tank without killing all of the babies (they will surely get sucked up into the h2o vacuum, which is tempting but I can't bring myself to kill them)

5- how old do these babies need to be before i can get them out of my tank

6- how often do the parents have babies

7- I have read that black convicts are monogamous, are they monogamous for life? If I gave them back to a pet store would they be heart broken?

8- is there anything I can put into the fish tank that will not get slaughtered

9- anybody out there who wants a million black convict cichlids?

    10- ***sigh***

thank you to whoever has information that will help ease my crazy fish tank life.

  • New kitten licks its side every time we pet it?

It becomes wet and matted. We have to brush him multiple times a day. It is almost like a disorder or something, he always does it,and once he starts he won't stop. Kitten had shots and flea meds when purchased (which was less than a month ago). Any ideas?

  • outdoor pond in ohio?

any animals i can add to an outdoor pond that does not have heat? I know to ensure that the ice doesn't freeze all of the way over. It is currently stocked with 3 koi and a couple of gold fish. The fish have been in the pond for around 10 years. I want to know what else I can put in it that can survive the cold of winter.
