  • Searching for adopted child?

A close friend of mine gave a child up for adoption almost 40 years ago. She had no choice in the matter and has always loved him and thought about him. However, with his best interests in mind, she has never searched for him. Now that he is certainly an adult, and she is getting older, she would very much like to locate him. She never had any other children. She has only the most basic information: date-of-birth, place, etc. Adoptions were very secretive when he was placed. Has anyone else done this? How would you advise her to proceed? I am trying my best to assist her. At his age, her son can certainly make up his own mind as to whether he wants to know her.

  • Chill pill for my dog?

I have a Benji-like terrier mix who's a real sweetheart. He's not aggressive and is basically very friendly. The one exception to that rule is when we're out for a walk and are approached by another (bigger) dog. Even if the dog only appears curious and not aggressive, my dog starts to get defensive and growls after a few minutes. Obviously, these bigger dogs could have him for lunch. I'm sure he's a bit intimidated by the size of these other dogs. However, most of them are friendly and just want to get to know him. Is there anything I can do that will help calm him and just make a new friend or two?

  • Where to stay in Grenada?

I was on a cruise last year and one of the islands we visited was Grenada. I loved it there and think I might like to go back for a longer stay. Any and all suggestions about places to stay/things to do are welcome.

  • For men of all ages?

I have a bet with a friend of mine. One of us thinks the following quotation is true for any man of any age, "The way to a man's heart is through his zipper." Do you agree or disagree? Elaborate if you wish.

  • Why isn't it enough?

If you have found the religion that's right for you, or if you're not religious at all, why can't you be satisfied with your situation and not try to convert others or persuade others that your way is the only right way? People are entitled to their own beliefs, or non-beliefs. Why the need to name-call and finger-point?

  • Remember Summer Camp?

What memory do you remember ALL these years later? I remember being 10 years old at Girl Scout camp and lying in the dark in a big tent with 3 other little girls while a baby bear ate shoe polish that someone had left open in our tent. We were afraid to move and sure Momma Bear was gonna' be there soon. Fortunately, we lived to eat S'mores again....

  • Helping someone with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder?

I am in a relationship with someone who has PTSD. We have known each other for awhile, but have just started getting really close. I know that he has PTSD. What can I do to reassure him about our relationship and to make him feel secure with me? I care very much for him. His disorder was caused by a bad relationship and a couple of other incidents.

  • Cordless phone problem?

I have a Uniden TRU246 cordless phone that I've had for awhile. I replaced the battery about a month ago, and it was working fine until about an hour ago. The phone went dead, and when I placed it on the base unit to recharge, the base unit recharge light blinks instead of just staying on. Any ideas on the cause of the sudden problem. Of course, the "Troubleshooting" part of my users manual gives me no info. Thanks!

  • Baby Boomers Only: What is your favorite memory of growing up in the 50's and 60's?

Some favorite memories of mine are trick or treating all over the neighborhood without ever thinking about having the resulting "loot" x-rayed for razors, etc. Also, I remember playing hide and seek in the dark on summer nights, also all over the neighborhood. Talk about a simpler time..'Glad I was there.
