  • When to remove guppy from breeder tank?

I found babies in my community tank and put my pregnant guppy into a floating breeder. She has been in there for 15 hours now with 7 babies and 3 sacs. She is relatively smaller than my other pregnant fish so I am pretty surprised she gave birth first. She still has a very dark gravid spot. What do I do? Do I take her out and put her back in the community tank after 48 hours or should I keep her there till the gravid spot is gone? I'm worried for the fry as all the other fish and the mom as we'll keep going after the little ones that were born in the community tank (I managed to save then though)

  • Is my guppy ready to give birth?

I bought some pregnant guppies before Christmas all of which are pregnant.

They don't look as squared off and fat as I expected them to be (saw them online in YouTube videos a be pictures) but this one particular one, just today, her gravid spot turned a little different. Like not only could I see the eyes but also the clear pinkish flesh of the babies. Furthermore, the area right under her gravid spot has developed a distinct white line leading up to her anal fin.

Now, I saw her having a little poop sticking out of her along with this fine maroon line with a pointy tip, I panicked as I thought it was the Baby. This line is not coming out together with the poop, they are separate and please note I only feed her flake food.

Next, she was behaving a little funny, like hiding in my broken pot ornament, then when she came out she is either up at the air pump or down at the filter. She does swim around but she looked tired and lazy, letting her tail weight weigh her down each time she stopped swimming. I fed her, she did eat.

I shifted her into a pail as I have no breeder tank, she was calm for two minutes and then started swimming frantically, so I out her back in the community tank. She has not isolated herself, still swimming with the rest but occasionally going her own way. I don't know what to do. I don't want her to have a miscarriage with all the stress and neither do I want the fry to be born in the community tank and get eaten by the rest of my 10 fish!

  • What is the cheapest place to buy liqueur bottles, preferably in Flinders on anywhere on the South Morang Line?

My boyfriend is coming over after new year and I want to bring him somewhere where we can get a couple of bottles of liquor to drink at home. Looking for whiskey such as: Teachers, Famous Grouse, Johnnie Walker. Also searching for McCallan. Please quote how much roughly for each bottle if you know. And also directions to get there if the place is not near the rail station.

    Thanks!

  • How to set up breeder tank for guppies?

I have a couple of pregnant guppies I just bought and am expecting them to give birth next week. I am new to keeping fish. Would like to know the following:

    1. How would I know when to out my fish in the breeder tank?

    2. Maximum number of hours that I can keep the fish in the breeder tank?

    3. Do I still need to isolate fish right after her giving birth?

    4. Any special foods to give the mother after she has given brith?

    5. Should I feed her more than usual while she is still expecting?

    6. Do I need to set my breeder tank up with an air pump?

    7. How long will oxygenated water last before I need to oxygenate the water again?

    8. When can I put my baby fish back in the community tank?

    9. How long should I continue feeding my fry egg yolk before I can start on flakes?

    Many thanks!

  • Looking for profiler Nitin K a.k.a Looking 4 real life Geet Dhillon?

I'm looking for a friend I had here with the above profile names. We have been really close since about 5 years ago maybe and then he suddenly disappeared. He is not active here either and I am still not giving up hope finding for him. I know chances are slim, but does anyone know him or know how I can contact him online, or can someone just past the message to him and say that I am desperately looking for him. Thanks, I would appreciate it so much, the friendship is precious to me :)

  • What is the recommended ratio of male to female fish I can put in a tank?

I have 5 male guppies and 6 female guppies. 2 males died a while ago, but before that they have been trying to mate a lot with my females that are all pregnant. So the males have been pretty distressed and the females harassed.

  • Places to visit in Melbourne, Australia?

I am here on a holiday, and my boyfriend is joining me next month. I want to. Ring him out to good and lovely places in Melbourne.

I have listed the following (some are in different states I think):

    Aquarium

    Werribee Zoo

    Sovereign Hill

    Mornington Peninsula

    Crown Casino

    St.Kilda Beach

We love to sightsee. Just not something that hasn't much substance to it, i dont want to just sit in a bus and look out the window.

Also, no clubs please, and I'm already good with restaurants so that's not a problemMaybe a good affordable pub in the city? And also a good Bollywood joint (no dancers) like a lounge or something. Just these and some good sightseeing, thanks!

  • Why are my male guppies dying?

My tank is 2 days old, Biopro T-639, 34 literes.

I bought 5 male guppies, 6 female guppies, 2 neon tetras, 2 suckies (plecos).

Within the last five hours both my tetras and on male guppy have died.

One neon choked on a huge piece of flake and another neon got infected by the bacterial bloom in the tank and started discolouring.

I isolated all the sick fish once I realized they are dying (no delay since I have been watching the tank almost every other minute).

The male guppy that died started just floating with the current, went low and hid in between a plastic plant I put in. Then he got himself stuck to the filter, that's when I took him out and isolated him. In isolation I realized every time I nudge him with something, or if he hears a sound, or just for no reason, he Isabel is able to dart. But then he goes back to floating with the current tummy up. Didn't want to eat either,

Now another male guppy is going through the same thing, so I have just isolated him and i supposed he is going to die too. I want to know why they are dying because I have so many guppies and I don't want to lose all of them.

Also to note, my ratio of males to females is almost 1:1 plus all my females are pregnant so the. Ales have been pretty unlucky trying to mate, but they did try like a lot. Especially this one that is dying, he is one of them that tried so much to mate, and forcefully. I wonder if the dying could have anything to do with the inability to mate. (Please note, when I both these guppies the males and females were already isolated in huge tanks on top of each other, they can't see each other)

  • Why is my air pump in aquarium sucking water and not giving air out?

My aquarium is 2 days old, it is a Biopro T-639.

    The filter is working fine,

The air pump seems to be vibrating and all so I know it is working but when I attached the airline tubing to the pipe valve "T"-shaped, the tube is sucking in water and no air is being given out into the tank. The other opening of the pipe valve is pumping water out as I suppose it is to do.

I really need help urgently because some of my fish have already died died to bacterial bloom and I don't want to see more die because of insufficient oxygen.

    Thanks!
