  • What camera would you recommend for studying abroad?

    I will be studying abroad in England this upcoming semester as well as doing some traveling around Europe. I currently have Canon point and shoot camera which is a couple years old that does a decent job taking your typical college pictures. I've been considering getting a new, slightly nicer camera for my upcoming trip. Im not a super great photographer or anything but I would like something that is not too expensive can takes some nice quality pictures of different landmarks, cities, etc. Does anyone have any suggestions?

  • Can anyone help with this hw?

    I am having trouble with these types of physics problems. There are several like the one below that are on my homework. I have the answers but don't know how to get the answers.

    If a spaceship is 30m long and has a mass of 25,000kg. You travel at .95 c for 1 year.

    a) How much time has passed on earth? 3.2 years

    b) How long does the spaceship look to an oberver at rest? 9m

    c)What would the mass of your spaceship be realtive toa an observer at rest? 8000kg

    I know that for A you use the equation ∆T=∆to/√1-v^2/c^2. For B, ∆L=∆to/√1-v^2/c^2. For C, ∆M=Mto/√1-v^2/c^2. What I don't know though is what to plug into the equations and how to get the answers. Can anyone explain this to me?

  • Physics: How to solve this problem and others similar to it?

    I am confused on how to solve this problem and problems similar to it. When I try to do them I always panic and forget how to solve them. Can anyone help me?

    A rock is dropped down a canyon and hits 15 sec later?

    -how deep is it?

    -how fast is it when it hits?

    The equations that we are supposed to use are:

    V=X/T

    Vf=Vi+AT

    Vf^2=Vi^2+2AX

    X=ViT+1/2AT^2

    V=velocity, X=distance, T=time, Vf= final velocity, Vi= initial velocity, A=acceleration

  • Why do we feel the need to critcize everyone's music?

    I've been thinking a lot about music recently and I've been starting to wonder why we feel the need to say that an artist is___________________(fill in with a deragatory term). It really doesn't chagne anything and it takes more effort than its worth. Also, no one is forcing you to listen to the music. I know that I'm guilty of this so I was just wondering if anyone has any ideas why we do this?
