What camera would you recommend for studying abroad?
I will be studying abroad in England this upcoming semester as well as doing some traveling around Europe. I currently have Canon point and shoot camera which is a couple years old that does a decent job taking your typical college pictures. I've been considering getting a new, slightly nicer camera for my upcoming trip. Im not a super great photographer or anything but I would like something that is not too expensive can takes some nice quality pictures of different landmarks, cities, etc. Does anyone have any suggestions?

If your budget goes as high as $400.00 I would recommend the Pentax XG-1 "bridge-type" camera. Or the Canon Powershot SX50 for about the same price. This cameras will turn out crystal sharp photo's (when enlarged). Remember to keep you pixels at maximum, use relatively low ISO's of 200-400, and f/stops of f/8 thru f/22.
Barring the above you can purchased a Fuji "bridge" type for about $200 which will give you get results like the Fuji S8200 for about $184.00.
Good Luck.

fhotoace is absolutely right, you need one with a 24mm (equivalent) wide angle lens so that you can fit in the architecture of our very crowded cities.
If your budget will reach that far get a Sony RX100 mk3. This will be very helpful indoors.

Otherwise a popular travel zoom from Panasonic should suit your needs. (That's what i would take with me)

Two things: 1) if we don't know what model you have, how can we recommend an upgrade? 2) if the camera you have is doing the job for you, why upgrade?
My favorite compact to recommend is the Sony DSC-RX100 and its two newer versions.
