  • Pension Benefit Guarantee Corporation denied beneficiaries?

When my father passed away we were told to contact PBGC. The company he worked for went from US Steel, to LTV OR Arcelor. According to PBGC, they don't have to release the funds from my father's pension even though he specifically named us as beneficiaries because my mother died before my father.

According to them, if my father had died first we would inherit her funds. But because she died before him we cannot inherit from him, even though he clearly believed that we would.

Does this make sense at all? Should we challenge this? Would we have any chance at all?

  • cable phone/internet router with wifi and linksys wifi router can I use both?

Getting a modem upgrade that comes with wifi. I also have a wifi router that I've had for years but still works very well.

But in the last few months we've gone from a three or four devices that use wifi to seven or eight. The old router is still working well, but if we can get even better service with two rather than one router why not?

I want to know if I can connect the linksys router into the cable router if it also provides wifim. And if I can will the two roters interfere with each other*

  • Probate Court? What will we have to do??? Everything has designated beneficiaries except the house?

Which has two mortgages and which I have lived in for 15yrs.

What will I have to do in probate court? Will I have to get a lawyer? Will hiring one eat up any inheritence I might get to help pay those mortgages and put me in forclosure or bankruptcy?

    What can I expect?

  • Eternal Darkness. Are there any games out there that are good substitutes for it.?

I've given up waiting for a sequal to Eternal Darkness. So what can I olay that will equal or surpass it in 1) Occult references, as in references to Lovecraft, Poe, ancient demons, secret societies, ect. 2) use of magic, spoken spells that the player puts together.

Is there anything out there even kinda like this??

  • Happy Science. ... Ever heard of this? And if you have what did you think?

I did post a question about this earlier but it got buried pretty quickly on page two so I decided to try again.

I saw an anime yes an anime on youtube called Buddha Reborn, that as it turns out is actually a "witnessing tool", used by this religion to snag anime fans. According to some of the posts there it doing a good job of it.

It has aliens that want to invade, ghosts that want to possess and kill their family and friends, two guys alive in Japan who each say they are the reincarnation of Buddha who use psychic powers and have followers doing spiritual warfare all over the place. The guy who is supposed to be the "real" Buddha says people have to open their minds to him so that he can fight the evil aliens and such and eventually lead everyone to "Buddha land".

No I am not joking, check out the video on youtube and then the many websites out there for Happy Science. No of course I don't believe in this mess of what seems to be a mashup of Christianity, Buddhism and Scientology but I am shocked by how seemingly popular its growing. So has anybody heard anything about it? What do you think.

  • Happy Science.....anybody ever heard of this?

I saw an anime on youtube a few days ago called "Buddha Reborn". There were aliens threatening to invade, dead people's spirits trying to kill their friends and relatives, two guys claiming to be the reincarnation of Buddha, and their two groups of followers doing spiritual warfare all over the place. All of this culminating in a battle in which one of the guys asks people to let him into their minds so that he can use their energy to fight the other guy and a young girl/prophet/something promising to spread the word to all the world.

So...anybody ever heard of this "Happy Science"?? I've read that there is actually a real guy attached to this thing claiming to be the Buddha leading the world to Buddha land. (NO I'm not making that up").

Evidently using this anime they've rounded up quite a few anime fans. Which is hard to believe as this is one of the worst anime I've ever seen. It really reads like just this side of a Chick tract.

  • Where online should I watch my anime?

I watch a A LOT of anime and am willing to pay for the privilege. But so often I hear that sites like Funimation, Anime Network, and Crunchy Roll are terrible. So where is a good site that wont get shut down in a month?

And BTW I actually prefer fan subs as the "editing for an American audience" is kept to a minimum.

  • Yogurt commercials... Whats the deal with women with it all over the place?

Every time I see a yogurt commercial at some point the woman (its always a female) has it coming out her mouth. Why is that??? Has she forgotten how to eat? Is she suffering some sort of medical condition?

Why have advertising minions decided that seeing a woman slurping yogurt off her mouth will convince anyone but a horny 15yr. old boy to buy it??

  • Don't try to kill all of the bed bugs at once?

I've read this a few times and don't understand what it means. They say if you do this they'll scatter everywhere. But how exactly do you do this with insecticide? I have a room to do. We think they are primarily in an easy chair which we will wrap and throw away. And perhaps they might be between the baseboard and wall to wall carpet behond the computer desk wher the chair is. The wall to wall is not just the one room but throughout the whole floor. We are treating the edges of the whole carpet with the insecticide.

So what do we do and in what order and time frame??

  • WasWondering why don't exterminators have payment plans for bed bug treatment?

Everyplace I've looked says hire pros. But how many people can plunk down $300-1500 right away? We can't. And with mine and my fathers heart disease and my brothers diabetes weeks or moths or more fighting them is a grim prospect.

I notice there some exterminators or workers here on questions. So tell me. Why can't we have dome sort of payment plan??

  • Three bed bugs in one room and I got an $800 estimate.?

There are so many treatments and so much advice, it should only be $50-$80 dollars, it will cost $1,000-1,500, dont bother with exterminators they wont get rid of them, don't try to get rid of them yourself you'll only waste your time and cost yourself more money in the end.

What to choose? Whose advice to take? And money is definately a concern.

  • Found three bed bugs in one room. Now What?

So far I've read advice that will cost hundreds of dollars. I've seen them only in one room and suspect a chair and maybe between the wall to wall carpet near it is where they are.

    So what should we do???

  • Just curious about this... But I've seen and read a few things about gay men wanting straight men.?

I have heard that a lot of gay men find the idea of sleeping with a straight guy to be very very enticing and I've always wondered if this were true, and if it is why it would be?

  • Are we planning too many fish for my nephew's 10 gallon tank?

We,ve got 4 glowlight tetras in a 10 gal. tank but plan to add more.

Two more glowlights two or 3 African dwarf frogs, depending on whether its okay to have only 2. And perhaps 3-4 of a small breed of fish equal to the size of the tetras.

Is this too many for a 10 gallon tank?

  • Cycling my 10 gal. tank: Week TWO, ammonia testing kit! We have four glowlight tetras?

in the tank and they seem to be doing well. So far I've changed the water four times, about 20-30% each time, each time using a de-chlorinater which also adds some biological element to the water.

Just a few days ago I tested the water for ammonia and the test strip comparison said that it was dangerously high (though the fish seemed okay) so I immediately changed the water, at least 40% of it. Just a day later I tested it again, and it had the EXACT SAME test result.

It didn't make much sense but the next day I changed the water again (30%) and tested the water RIGHT afterwards, and it showed the EXACT same result! Then I tested plain tap water to see if the strips were okay and the test came out "ideal".

So what is the deal with these tests? Is the strip too sensitive or is it possible that the tank is that dirty even with changing the water so often??

Also, the filter is supposed to be changed every two weeks and that two weeks is today and I won't be able to get to the store till tommorow.

  • My nephew just got a goldfish. Correction he's just gotten 2, the first one died within a day of having it?

So my dad got him a second one. Well, being the worrier that I am, I decided to do a bit of research after they got the second fish.

First, they told them that it was a "feeder fish". I assume that they thought that this was a fish type, but in looking it up I found out that this means they use the fish to feed other fish! But further on, I found that it is actually a either a common or a comet goldfish and if healthy it can live 10 or 15 years.

So I've been trying to figure out how to take care of it. They brought the first one home in a gallon fish bowl. It didn't look so healthy, wasn't very active and died the next morning. The second was very active, but later on at about 3:00 this morning it started breathing hard and spending a lot of time at the surface of the water. I did a partial change of the water, and he seems better but I figured we'd better get him into a bigger, filtered aerated tank asap.

The problem is I read that the tank needs to be cycled before adding any fish, and that if you do add fish they can't be fish that aren't very hearty, and that seems to leave our common/comet goldfish out.

So should we cycle the tank with him in it, or try to keep him alive in the small bowl while cycling the tank for one to two weeks???
