Species of African Raptors?
I was wondering if there are any avian/Egyptian experts out there who can help me out: I need to make a falcon costume for myself but I am running into issues with accuracy. The only breed I found is the Kestrel, but nothing else. Is there a specific specie or breed (besides the Kestrel) that is either common in northern Africa or that the ancient Egyptians used while hunting?

2 AnswersOlympics1 decade agoWedding without flowers?
So I have always been not 100% on flowers for my wedding, and am now looking at different options for a fall event (I also heard why flowers are there and I am not to thrilled about it). My question is if there are any planners or brides out there (currnet or former) that have either tried the no-flowers bit, found pictures on websites, or have any ideas to help me out. Thanks!!
9 AnswersWeddings1 decade agoWhen is too early to take joint care supplements?
I am a 25 year-old ballerina in a university dance program. I dance about 9 hours/wk and I was wondering if it is too early for me to start taking joint -care supplements. I know that dancers are highly prone to bone, muscle, and joint damage, and I would like to prevent that kind of damage to my own body.
3 AnswersDiet & Fitness1 decade agowedding day survival kit?
I am going to a wedding shower in a few weks to a friend I know, but not very well. Since I had no idea what to get her, I got an idea about making a wedding day survival kit filled with things she may need like mini sewing kit, asprin, make-up wipes, manicure touch-up polish, band-aids, and double sided adhesive tape. I am looking/asking for ideas for any thing else that could be needed. Any previous brides out there who found/needed something at the last minute? Thanks everyone!

8 AnswersDancing1 decade agohair removal?
Does anyone know of any products/tricks to get hair out of cloths in the washer/dryer? In between my long hair, two cats, and a dog, my apartment is COVERED in hair. I vacuum twice a week and use lint brushes like they are going out of style. I pull clothes out of the dryer that are covered in fur! Any help would be great.

6 AnswersCleaning & Laundry1 decade agoAcustic "Nutcracker"?
A few years ago, I fell asleep listening to the PBS/classical radio station. I woke up and heard the most amazing version of "The Nutcracker"; all the movements were done by a acustic guitars. However, I never heard the name of the group or if there was a different name of the CD besides the obvious.
If anyone has any information for me or know what I am referring, please let me know. I have looked all over the Internet, Amazon, LimeWire, bookstores, music stores.....everywhere I can think.
1 AnswerMusic1 decade agoMy cat likes to pee on a certain spot on the floor!?
Our 2-yr old tabby (Cooper) developed a bad habit last year. We moved his litter box from our office/guest room into our bathroom. After we did that, he would use his litter box, but would also pee on the spot of carpet where the box use to be. We have punished him, cleaned the carpet 3x, put baking soda on it right after we find that he does it, & used a stain/odor remover. We even moved the box on that spot, but he still pees as close as that spot as he can. He was neutered when he was very young and has a clean bill of health by the vet. If he was spraying on lots of verticle surfaces or peeing on more spots, I would worry about a health/mental problem; but it is only one spot in our apartment and he only hits it when he has the opprotunity. Now we have to keep the door closed all the time. The best remover we have found was 'Kids N Pets', which works great, but he still marks that spot. Any suggestions or cleaners that go to the carpet padding (which we can't pull up)?
20 AnswersCats1 decade agoHelp with cheese sauces!?
Whenever I make a cheese sauce (mac & cheese, alfredo, etc), my sauce always ends up lumpy/grainy. I make a roux with butter and flour, then add the milk, then the cheese. But no matter what I do, the sauce never ends up smooth. I have tried adding more butter (in case I have added too much flour to absorb it all), changing the amount of time the milk is in the pan (too much time so it curdles, but not enough that the milk never gets hot enough to melt the cheese), grating cheese at home versus buying the already shredded stuff (maybe the bagged stuff is too dry?)...I have no idea> Please help me, my sauces beg fot help!
18 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoI need help in cooling my apartment!?
I live on the top floor of my quad-plex building. The morning sun comes in through my bedroom, crosses over the roof about midday, hits the front of the building around 2-ish and pretty much stays there until it sets at night (which ends up being about 8-ish). On top of that, our summers get to be around 90+ degrees. The main area in my apartment gets like 70% of the days sun and as such makes my apartment almost unbearable. Once the sun is on half of the deck, we close the drapes and keep them closed. We keep a fan in our bedroom and two in the main room, along with a swamp cooler fan, but it still stays so hot! I have a feeling my animals are getting miserable with the heat (except for my tropical bird), as I am too! Our deck has no sort of shading whatsoever from the building (the eaves on extend about 4"), so I have been thinking about investing in an umbrella or making an awning-type system to make more shade in hopes that would help.
Anyone have any suggestions?
7 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs2 decades agoJobs with horses in the entertainment industry?
I have always wanted to act in movies, but I do understand that is a VERY hard thing to do. However, one thing that has been another dream of mine has been to do the stunt riding in movies. I actually am a pretty good rider, and have been thinking about this seriously for a while. Does anyone know (besides going to Hollywood) how I can get into this arena of "The Business"? Do i need an agent? Have a degree in equine sciences? Are there specific people I should look up?

How far should the bars be on a cage for 2 degus? We want to upgrade to another cage for our two girls, and we saw this birdcage that would be awesome, but I am unsure about the bar spacing (that cage has 1/2"). I have been all over the 'Net and cannot find anything. Any suggestions?
5 AnswersOther - Pets2 decades agoShould I get a female parottlet for my male?
I have a 2 year ole male Celestial Parottlet (Grissom) and my boyfirend and I have been thinking about getting a female compainion for him. However, I wonder if this is a good idea. Would he try to attack her in being possessive of his cage? Would he become less affectionate with us? We don't want to breed him, but would they actively try to mate?We have tried getting in tough with a local bird group, where his breeder is a part of, but we can't ever get a hold of anybody.
2 AnswersBirds2 decades agoI have noticed I get little red bumps on the side of my legs after shaving, and I have no clue what it is.?
It almost looks like razor burn, but it dosen't hurt or anything like that. I have changed for shaving cream to gel, different razors, and even began adding lotion to my regiment (and that makes it burn a bit). Is there anyone out there who can help me to get rid of these bumps so I can stop feeling self-conscience when I wear shorts?!
