I'm a voracious reader who loves to help others. But I'm also a writer. In fact I just recently had my first book for sale at www.amazon.com The title is Guardian Warrior by S.M. Morrison. My main website is at http://locofortrains.tripod.com It not only tells a lot more about me but has listings for places that hire you to mystery shop, drive cars, etc. I created it because of getting so tired of looking for stuff like this that made you pay for the info. I'm sorry I can't see charging someone for something you got for free. For friends and strangers I haven't met yet I've also listed just a bunch of cool little known sites where you can buy things like items from 20-50 yrs. ago most think aren't still being made. Like does anyone remember 7 UP candy bars or Revlon Moon Drops perfume? They're actually still being made. Anyway I like meeting new people & learning new things

  • I have 2 expensive power strips that have auto shut offs. Which 2 of the 3 options is most cost effective to plug into the power strips?

First I have a 20 yr. old tv w/ DVD/ VCR attached along with a satellite dish. Second I have a 15 yr. old desktop with an LCD Monitor and 3 in 1 printer attached. Third my son has a PS3, satellite dish and new 27 inch TV. I'm trying to figure out where I can save money the most. I can't afford another power switch that expensive.

How do you find out where to plug in a charger on a Agasio Tablet?

I bought a Agasio Tablet & can't figure out where it plugs in at & until I get it charged I can't find any of the particulars about it. The 3 choices I have to plug it in is a circular one with a arrow through a circle underneath of it & the other 2 have written under them HOST and OTG. Does anyone know where to charge it in at & with what kind so I can find out the particulars?

  • Getting dust off of cotton.?

I have a Christmas decoration that has a cotton covering on the bottom. It doesn't come off & it's covered in attic type of dirt. Is there anyway to clean it w/o destorying it? It's battery operated so I have to be really careful with any liquids.

  • How do I get my freezer to freeze?

A week ago my freezer went all the way up to 50 degrees. I cleared out all the ice & lowered the temp to 3. After a few hrs. it started freezing again & the fridge went back down to 40. It worked great for several days. Now it's doing it again. My freezer is at 45 & the fridge is at 55. I can hear the motor. The seal is fine. I'm out of ideas as to what to try. It's a metallic with black trim freezer/refrigerator whirlpool if that helps any.

  • When I'm losing 0.08ths of a gallon how many ounces am I losing?

The meter man said if my rate on the meter reads 0.08 then that's the rate per gallon that I have a leak. I've tried adding, subtracting, etc to figure out how many gallons I'm losing a day while I'm trying to find the leak. This kind of math I've always been crappy with. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • According to my meter there is a leak. I turned off toilet & bathroom faucet. Still leaking?

When we turned off the faucet in kitchen the leak stopped. We took everything out from under the sink & turned those off & it stopped flashing. But there isn't any water under the sink. I cleaned the o-rings & applied silicone grease but it still registers a leak. Does this mean the leak is under the house?

  • What does this sentence mean? Available for outdoor lighting to individual customers (see details)?

in locations where municipal street lighting is not applicable.

To me it appears to say street lights where individual customers can pay and have it is only available where there aren t any city lights.

Am I reading this wrong? If so what is it saying? Thanks everybody.

  • How can you make a roof over an L shaped patio (not house)?

I have a shed with a patio on the side & halfway down the back. i want to put a permanent cover on it like a roof. The side isn't a big deal. It's a simple 11ft X 12. But there is a section that goes behind the shed that is technically about 4 ft. wide X 5 ft. long but in reality it goes all the way up to where the other ends. Technically I guess we could make the one for the side going north & south. Then make the small L section for the area & for the part not attached to the shed roof going east/west, attach it instead to the last one going north & south. But that sounds like an awful lot of extra work & not too stable. Everything I've found online has been for an L shaped house instead of patio. Since we use the small section in back to store stuff we'd like to cover that too so we could store more seasonal stuff back there. The sun doesn't have to shine through the roof because we want to use it for storage more than enjoyment. So we don't want rain & snow inside. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

  • Mysterious leak that we can't find that won't dry up.Any ideas from wannabe Sherlock Holmes?

The carpet by our washer is soaked. But it's dry under the washer and up to a couple of inches away. The HVAC register is over top part of the soaked carpet but the register is dry. So we went to the basement & there are no pipes anywhere close & no leaks. Yet the carpet is soaked & won't dry out. The only idea left is tear up the carpet & floor boards which will cause even more problems because of the house's age. The idiots that did the HVAC didn't connect the hose to the drain pit so it soaked the drywall in the dining room which fell & soaked the floor but that's like 25-30 ft. away from there and we fixed that. So I'm out of ideas & pretty much out of money too as we're on a fixed income. So any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

  • What does this tax refund statement mean?

I filed my taxes using a W2 form. The federal was accepted w/o any problem. But the state return said

"Error Description: Schema Failed Validation. See details. Details: The 'http://www.irs.gov/efile:TaxPayer' element is invalid - The value '' is invalid according to its datatype 'http://www.irs.gov/efile:KYTaxPayerPPFundType' - The Enumeration constraint failed.

I checked the W2 form I had entered and realized I had put a comma instead of a period so I corrected that and started everything from the beginning to make sure there weren't any other accidents and everything was fine so I resubmitted it as told to but it still said the above. Anyone have any ideas of what else I might have done wrong. I used the 1040Now Online site to prepare it.

  • How do you get rid of roaches for real?

A neighbor fogged their rental house w/o warning & now all the neighbors are paying with an infestation. Nothing seems to work. We've tried organic cures & products, poisons & home remedies. Even exterminators can't get all of them longer than a few days. We've sealed every tiny hole & still are fighting. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I've never dealt with this kind of infestation in my life. No matter how much is sprayed & cleaned they keep coming back. Yes, we covered the outside as well.

  • if you have a 4 oz solution at 7.9% diluted into 4 gallons what would the percentage of solution be?

Thanks to a neighbor I have bugs. I've been told the sprays in hardware stores are worthless. At the Milling Store They have a solution of Bifenthrin that's 7.9%. You're supposed to use one ounce per gallon. Bifenthrin is the same stuff used In Ortho Home Defense Max at 0.5% ready to use. So I'm trying to figure out if when the 4 oz. at 7.9% is diluted which one is stronger & by how much? These bugs are giving me the heebie jeebies & I don't want to play games with them or my money for that matter. Any help would be greatly appreciated. God bless.

  • Can you have an honorable and dishonorable discharge at the same time?

This sounds insane but I swear it's true. A lady I met from WV said that her father is buried in Spring Hill Cemetery in Charleston, WV. Supposedly it's a military graveyard or at least that's how he was buried. The VA says he's not eligible for a headstone because he was honorably/dishonorably discharged on his DD 214. The dishonorable part was for fighting. He was a Korean War vet & died in 1968 and her mom has been arguing with them ever since. I don't know how he can be both h & d discharged since they contradict each other but she swears that's what it says on his DD 214. Anyone have any ideas of what's going on here & could give me some direction to help her & her mom before she dies? Any help especially with references or links would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • Alternator & starter changed but still won't hold charge. What can I do?

First we changed the starter but the car still wouldn't hold a charge. So we took it to the auto store to be tested & it said the battery was good but the alternator was bad. So we bought one & put it on. The car charger started the car but the "check engine" wouldn't go off. So I drove it around the block & suddenly it was hard to turn. Then the battery light started flashing. I made it home, turned the car off and when I tried to turn it back on it just clicked with the check engine light on. It's a '95 Geo Prizm 1.6 litres if that helps.

  • Heater throws out cold air when it's set on heating.?

From time to time my heater will suddenly start throwing out cold air & the thermostat will go down 5-10 degrees lower than it's set at for several hrs. Then for no reason it will start giving out warm air again like it's supposed to. Sometimes it will even go 1-2 degrees higher than originally set before clicking off. It's done it a couple of times a month all this winter. Besides being cold I presume it's wasting energy & money. This is the second year it's done it. But it doesn't do it in the summer with the cooling. I use electric for cooling & gas for heating. Anyone have any ideas? My nephew has worked with heating/cooling units at work but never heard of anything like this.

  • How do you install an accessory horn with a pushbutton starter?

The horn to my car doesn't work & I'm wanting to add a horn I can use a push button with. The guy working on it took the 2 lines & connected one to the ground & the other positive on the battery directly to make sure the horn was working. So we know it works as it keeps blowing until disconnected. But when he takes the one wire & connects it to the push button & the other & connects it to the relay & of course both to the battery terminals nothing happens. Anyone have any ideas I'd sure appreciate it. When the weather gets pretty around here every stupid driver in the tri-state comes out & plays "I rule the road" so I really can't wait much longer to install it. Thanks bunches.

  • How do you use or convert a floppy disc in a new computer?

My son just got a Panasonic Palmcorder MultiCam Camcorder PV-L652. The driver is on a floppy disc. My computer doesn't take a floppy disc. So I went to www2.panasonic.com and downloaded what I thought was the driver (photoshot5_01). I downloaded winzip to unzip it but winzip doesn't recognize the driver as being a zipped file. But I can't get it opened. The camcorder is connected to the pc but my pc doesn't reconize it as being connected. My OS is Windows Vista & IE8 for my browser..Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong & how to fix it? I'd really like to put this video on line. Thanks in advance.
