  • I have to run on Saturday.?

I have to run 1.5 miles on Saturday do something. No way around it.

The thing is, I don't work out.

I'm not overweight at all. I'm just skinny cuz I eat healthy.

Tips for running it? Should I do any kind of "training" to prepare? If so, WHAT?

I've only had my period once. It was super light and all I had was U by Kotex a friend gave me. I better get some more stuff since it's been 7 weeks since I had it. What products would you recommend?

Also, any period tips would be much appreciated.

  • Girls Only --- Period Questions?

I had my first period 2.5 weeks ago at camp. I only used pads and it was super, super, super light. I had mild cramps the day before and the first day, but I was fine for the remaining days. I'm definitely a late starter. :)

Anywho, I am not sure how to tell my mom. Ideas?

Also, can someone tell me the pros and cons of pads and tampons?

Are you not supposed to wear heavier tampons on lighter days?

Do you have any recommended pads an tampons?

Any advice for anything I didn't ask?

    Thanks ladies!

  • Which wide angle lens?

I am in need of a wide angle lens. Nikkor 24mm 1.4 or 35mm 1.4? I shoot mostly people, not one for landscapes. I have a 50 & 85mm already. Love prime lenses. :)

  • How to Ask Dad if I can go on trip?

There is a missions trip I really want to go on this summer, but one of my parents would have to go with me (well, not really, but my mom said she doesn't want me in a foreign country without a parent at this age. It would be safe and everything since its with a reputable organization, but I respect her opinion). My mom couldn't take off that week, so my dad would have to take me.

He will say no. It means so much to me to be able to go. I only have until Tuesday to register.

How can I work up the courage to ask him? Im on his bad side right now lol

    Thanks

  • I annoy my friends an i want to stop help me?

I'm 14. I am an idiot. My friends left me and it's because I annoy them and ask to many questions. I wasn't aware if that an now I see that I am an annoying jerk. Apparently the questions I ask are too personal or pointless and it irritates people and made everyone leave me. I thought it was them that were being the jerks but clearly it's me. Help me. I want to lose my annoying person status and become someone people will talk to and want to be friends with. Since kindergarten nobody has take. My hand and wanted to be my friend until now but I completely blew it. I hate myself. Help me. Can you please give me advice on losing that nnoying person status? I want friends. Also, how do you go about conversations without asking questions? I made a commitment that when I'm with or texting my friends I only speak in statements.

Thank you. I'm tired of being "that" girl.

  • My friends never invite me to things?

It's really hard. I feel like I'm just that girl that sits with them at the lunch table. Sure, we text, but if we talk I always come up to them first to start a conversation. I haven't been to any of their houses, or anyone's for that matter this year. I used to go to their parties but they stopped inviting me. They post on instagram so that's how I know.

    Help I'm sad :(

    Advice would be appreciated.

And if you've gone through a similar thing, tell me a little about what you did.

    Thank you so much :)

  • Advice on Making Video Diaries for Younger Sibling?

    Hey,

My family is in the process of adopting a child (we don't know the gender yet) with special needs from China. I watch Good Luck Charlie a lot and I thought it was so cool how Teddy does video diaries for Charlie.

Do you think it would be a good idea to do this for my new sibling?

If so, when do you think I should start? In China? Now? When my sibling is home and a little older?

Also, what type of video camera would you recommend?

    Thank you!

  • My eyebrows are REALLY bushy and my mom wont let me tweeze them?

Im 14 and my eyebrows are extremely bushy. My mom wont let me and she doesnt believe me that all the other girls in my class do theirs. She says she will never allow me to do them. Its not fair...they look like mad scientist eyebrows. Not kidding. And my mom is like "they are beautiful." Ughhh...they are ugly and i dont know if she can see that.

Shes just too afraid to let me grow up. She said I can start shaving my legs when go off to college. SInce you cant goof up doing that, I did it when I was 11 and I got in big trouble, but I am afraid I will mess up doing my eyebrows.

    Sooo...I have 2 questions:

How do i convince my mom to let me do do my eyebrows?

How do I do them on my own if she doesnt let me?

Dont tell me to just listen to her. I get made fun of at school because of my eyebrows.

  • Please answer if you have never adopted from china?

I know the truthful answers to all these questions since my family has adopted several times, but I just want to see what people who know very little about Chinese adoption think:)

1 what are all the steps to adopting?

    2. Are there mostly boys, mostly girls, all girls, all boys, or half and half available for adoption?

    3. What are the orphanages like?

Please answer:) I want to see what you think the answers are!

  • HELP! I need a new razor?

So I started shaving my legs and underarms a year ago. I don't have any problems shaving, but I kinda have a problem related to shaving:

When we got *the talk* 5 years ago when I was 9, my mom said that I wasn't allowed to shave my legs or underarms til I'm 17. (Yes, 17...my moms weird) Well of course that's wayyy to late, so I just started last summer.

It's been fine and my mom has no idea, but twice since then (when I had on long pants thankfully) my mom has reminded me about how I must be 17. I didn't say "ok mom", I just said "whatever" to dodge the question.

I need a new razor desperately, but I can't get a new one without her knowing. I've searched her bathroom for one, but she appearantly uses the same razor for a year... I got the one I have now from her bathroom closet cuz it was her only spare.

What should I do? I don't wanna tell her cuz she will kill me. Literally. I need a new one sooo badly.

    Thanks!

  • Big brother question?

I'm 14 and my brothers 23. He is married and lives about 1.5 hours away. We are pretty close for siblings living 1.5 hours away.

He sometimes uses words like "sweetie" when he talks to me. Like before we hang up on phone conversations, he might say, " bye hun", or he might answer a question and add "sweetie" on the end. It's not a lot that he does this, but enough to kinda irritate me.

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with him saying that, but I feel like I'm 7 when he says that. Should I tell him not to, or just live with it since he's 9 years older than me? What should I do?

  • I'm freaked out that I could start my period?

So I'm 14, and my doctor said I should have already started my period a while ago, so it could come at any moment. I have some questions:

How do u know you have your period? Is seeing blood in your underwear the only way?

What do you do at night?

How many days does your period last?

Can u swim or take a shower while you have it?

    Is it scary?

How often do u have to change your pads?

    Thanks!

  • When to show Chinese sister note from birth parents.?

My sister, Ingrid, is 4. she was adopted from China. She had a birth note from her parents that just said when and where she was born and that they came to Henan Province to treat her disease, but medical treatment was too expensive, and that they hope nice people can care for her.

Anyway, she is our only China kid with an abandonment note. We really have no clue when to show her this and when to start conversations about her past. Its a little different with her than with our other China kids because she had a note from her birth parents. (One of our kids was actually an over quota kid!)

If you have adopted from China or are knowledgable about this kind of thing, please answer.

    Thanks!

  • Have you ever had a fire in your house or a friends house?

    Just wondering. :)

If so, what happened? How much damage was there? How did it start?

A couple years back we were at my grandmas house and we smelled smoke. Her basement had a small fire from the air conditioner. Not quite sure what really happened. No damage, she just needed a new air conditioning.

Also, if this counts, we were on a camping trip at camp 3 years ago and part of the tent caught on fire! Nobody was in it, and we just duct taped the hole.

  • Adoptive Parents: Please Read and Answer!!!?

    Hi!

So my family has 5 kids adopted from China. We hope to have our 6th, Allyson Noah-Qian, home in 7-8 months. First I will tell you about al of our Chinese kids:

    1) Greta Elise-Cho: She is 11 years old now. We got her when she was 6. She had needed no medical attention which was a huge praise! The only really big struggle that I really remember her having when we got her was the language barrier. She has come a long way since she joined our family and I am so thankful for her!

    2) Benjamin "Ben" Luke-Huang: Ben is 7 now. For Ben we had what seemed the quickest adoption process ever! He joined us when he was 20 months old. He had a cleft but that was fixed in a little over a year. His main issue for the first month was attachment to my mom, but that wasn't for long. I love my bro!

    3) Ingrid Grace Wen-Mei: Ingrid is 3 1/2 now. We got her from China when she was 22 months old. She is fearless, and honestly had no issues adapting to American life. She has Hirshprungs but she had a surgery that is allowing her to live symptom-free I can't wait to see what the future holds for Ingrid!

    4) Amy Bryanne-Lan: She is 14, and she was 10 when we got her. One crazy thing is that I was born on the same day as her, which almost never happens! Adopting an older child was definitely a challenge, but my parents are so glad they did do that. For the first months she was really scared and was not so sure about American food and American life. The language change was SO difficult for her. After about 3-5 months she got adjusted really well. She flew in learning English, and now she is completely fluent. We were very surprised that she had been educated enough so that she could only be one grade behind.

    5) Jake Samuel-Dewei: He is 4, and we got him last year. His nannies had tought him some English, which was GREAT! No medical problems! WOOHOO! He adjusted well and loves life in America! I love this kid!

So, I would love to hear your kids adoption stories and hear about them!

    Thanks!
