  • I need legal advice on having a web site shut down?

I have a friend who is being accused of copyright infringement (no charges are pending)and the accuser has made a web page that slanders my friend. This friend is a published author who had a disagreement with another published author and now the second author is accusing her of copyright infringement. She didn't file any charges but is trying to defame her instead. My friend has ignored this for months, but the accuser keeps adding things to the web page. My friend just wants her to take it down. She doesn't want to file charges because it simply is not worth the time, energy and money it would take and frankly it has not hurt her sales at all. Is there a way she can force the author to take it down? A Cease and Desist or something? Thanks in advance! BTW...there was no copyright infringement...my friend copy/pasted something from the other author's blog on to hers and gave her FULL CREDIT for the post and has in no way profited from it.

  • I would like to know why they can't do an organ transplant for cancer?

For example..they can do Liver, Kidney & pancreatic transplants for other diseases, so why can't they remove a cancerous organ and replace it with a "good" one? With all the advancements we have made in the medical field, I don't understand why they can't do that. I know that you can survive with just 1 lung, so why can't they remove a cancerous one? I can understand if the cancer has spread, but if it is contained in 1 area, what is the reason for not attempting to replace the diseased organ?

  • I think my cat is allergic to new food...?

I think my cat is allergic to the Iams food I bought her. She has been scratching and she has sores from it. She also seems to have developed very dry spots on her back, near her tail. Mostly the areas she has scratched/bit raw are near the tail, behind the ears and her neck. She does not have fleas. She is an only pet, afraid of her own shadow who runs in to my bedroom every time the door opens!

I bought her new food...the Cat Chow she is used to, but is there anything I can give her for the itching in the mean time?

    ~Thanks~

  • For Christians...and any who want to answer...?

Shouldn't Christians pray for, instead of insult and treat badly those who are not Christians? A young man who went to school with my son just lost his battle with leukemia. This young man was a Christian who started to treat him badly when my son announced that he was not a Christian. He was completely shunned when he first thought himself to be Jewish but was treated a little better when he decided that he was an atheist. My son did not come to that conclusion without first searching through the belief systems. Anyway, when I learned of this poor treatment my son received at the hands of Christians, it got me thinking...shouldn't you pray for him instead of treat him badly?

  • I have a question about bears...?

I am writing a book and a portion includes killing a bear. I managed to get that part written, but for accuracy, does anyone know what bear meat tastes like? Also, is gutting and skinning a bear any different than any other animal? I wouldn't think so, but I have never hunted, gutted or skinned anything, so I don't know if there are any differences.

Thank you for any help you can give me!!

  • How do I let someone know they have over stayed their welcome?

I have a friend who is staying with me along with her daughter. When I told her she could stay here, my husband and I were both working, but I got laid off a week after she got here. That was 6 months ago. She got a job in January and I feel it is time for her to find a place and move out. While it has not really been a problem, it has been a slight financial burden, but nothing we can't handle...until unemployment runs out (which it will do soon!). I don't want to offend her or damage our friendship, but I feel she is way too comfortable here and will stay until I tell her she needs to leave. How do I do that without causing a rift in the friendship?

  • A legal question about employment contracts...?

My son is about to start a job where they want him to sign a contract stating that if the employment is terminated for any reason, he cannot work for any company that sells electronics for 18 months. I assume they could consider Walmart, Target, Sears or any other place that sells electronic equipment. Wouldn't that be denying him a livelihood? Especially in this economy where you need to take what you can get!

Can anyone tell me if they can actually enforce this?

    Thank you!

  • Does anybody thing Casey Anthony can really get a fair trial?

With all the media coverage, do you think she can get a fair trial? She has already been tried in the media and found guilty, so what are the chances of finding 12 people who don't have an opinion already?

  • Is there anything over the counter for Eczema?

My 2 year old grandson has Eczema from head to toe. The doctor prescribed a medication that is over $70 and my son and daughter in law cannot afford to buy it, so I was wondering if anyone knows anything over the counter that they can use on this little boy to control the itching. It is heart breaking watching him scratch until he bleeds! His little hands are red and scaly and very rough. I feel so bad and helpless! Thank you in advance!

  • Just curious...?

How much do you think we resemble the first people? God created Adam and Eve in His likeness, but how much do we reseble them in any way (physical, spiritual, intelectual)?

  • Who will have it harder on "Judgement Day"?

...the person who lives in peaceful harmony with all of God's creations but not a follower of Christ, or the Christian who goes to church on Sunday, tithes, and helps in food drives, but has affairs, steps on people to get to the top, overindulges and abuses his children? Or how about the Priest who molests children? Who will God be harder on?
