I am a hard working single mom with 3 boys, 2 of which are teenagers now...YIKES!!! I love swimming, camping, going to the gym...I just discovered I love working out, but not the traditional workout..I love the classes and interaction. I am an animal nurse and am pursuing a bachelor's degree in health care administration. In my spare time I love going to church with family, reading, I am a TOTAL NASCAR JUNKIE!!!!

  • Is it appropriate for me to get my boyfriend's mom a Mother's Day gift?

We have been dating for almost 6 months. I would like to get her something small to tell her thanks for raising a great son. She likes coffee, so I thought about a small bag of specialty coffee and a mug.

This may seem obvious, but I am new to the dating scene and am still learning the rules!!

Thanks to all who give great ideas to help me.

  • Quick custody question?

I need a few links regarding custody in Idaho.

I have sole legal and physical custody of my kids, 16, 13, and 11. My 16 year old is going to live with his dad for a while, on a trial basis, and I need to find out how this could impact the custody arrangement.

My fear is that by my allowing him to go live with his dad, it could compromise the custody orders, even though he is deeply in arrears on child support.

I don't need folks out there to give me advice/chastise me for my decision. You do not live in my world or understand the dynamic of my decision.

I only need resources to help me make an informed decision.

  • Does anyone have experience with a Narcissist? Can you share it with me?

I was married for almost 15 years to a terribly narcissistic man. He has never been formally diagnosed, but all of my research has me 100% convinced that he has NPD. According to the diagnostic manual professionals use, he hits every single criteria listed.

The reason I am looking for advice is that he is moving back to the same town as me to be close to his kids, and I have a new boyfriend, the first since my divorce, and I know that he is going to play games as is true to his nature. I just want some practical tips and advice on how to diffuse his mind games so that his coming back won't destroy my relationship with my new bf. He means the world to me and I don't want him to get scared off by him. Thanks

  • I would love some information about ACL repair and recovery?

My boyfriend just tore his ACL and MCL. He will need surgery, but I was wondering if anyone who has gone through this in the last year could give me more info on recovery, physical therapy, what in general he can expect. He sees the surgeon this Tuesday, but he has had an MRI and it is a complete tear of both ligaments.

  • How do I get the smell of dry cleaning chemicals out of my nice leather coat?

My boyfriend spilled hot chocolate on my leather coat, I took it to the dry cleaners, and now it smells horrible from the chemicals. It looks nice and is in good condition, almost new. Any suggestions on how to remove the odor without damaging the coat?

  • Can man change what God has created?

My case in point is the supposed "pregnant man" who started life as a woman, and was endowed with all the organs and hormones a woman has, then of her own free will and choice decided to become a "man". Now she/he has had a baby, and refers to himself as a pregnant man.

I find this logic totally out of touch with reality. And I resent the fact that they are splashing "his" story all over the world as if a triumph of science or something.

If someone wants to live an alternative lifestyle, that's fine with me. But please don't shove it in my face and expect me to be ok with it being "normal".

    What are your thoughts?

  • Do you think it is a bunch of baloney when a guy says,"I think you are awesome but I want to be friends"?

I have to wonder what they really mean when they go on and on about your wonderful qualities, what an inspiration you have been, and they admire your courage, yet at the end they say they want to be just friends? Is it because there is no spark or is it because of some other factor? Should I continue to see if there is a chance of something more, or chalk it up to his loss and move on?

  • Do dreams always mean something?

I have been divorced for 3 years, and not been on a date since the divorce. I did have a crush on someone right after my divorce, but it pretty much ended there. We never went on a date, or even kissed. He was all wrong for me. I think it was just the idea that I am available, and he was too. We talked alot, but that is how our relationship was. Now I see him around the neighborhood, but we say hey and that's about it.

Over the last 3 years I have recurring dreams where I am kissing someone who doesn't have a face. I will have this dream quite frequently. The last few weeks I met a friend. We are just friends, no dates or anything. Just phone calls and e-mails. Now the dreams have started having a face, but it is no one I know. Last night I dreamed about kissing the guy I had a crush on at first. It was very real and I woke up remembering every detail. We were in love. I don't even have a crush on him anymore, and I want to pursue a relationship with my new friend.

What does all this mean? Do dreams really have a meaning or am I just a lonely divorcee dreaming about relationships to fill a void?

  • Can someone help me with an ethical dilema at work?

This has been bugging me for a few days and I don't know what to do. I was at work the other night, (I work the weekend graveyard shift) and we were very slow so the shift leader sent a co-worker home for a few hours, and when she returned at 3 a.m. the shift leader would leave. I don't know why they did it that way, but they did. Anyway, the girl who left came back about 30 min. later and I asked her why she was back so soon and she said that she and her friend went to get beer but she left her house keys in her locker. When she came back she wasn't drunk, nor could I smell any booze on her breath, but she told the shift leader and I that she went home and played online video games and had a couple beers before coming back to work.

We work in an animal ER and we have to stay focused, and she also has to draw up drugs that, in the wrong dose, could be fatal.

My dilema is this: Since the shift leader knows and doesn't care, do I leave it be or tell the nursing director?

  • Am I missing his signals?

I have been divorced for 2 years next month, and before that I was married for 15 years at age 18. My ex was the only man I ever dated.

The situation is that there is there is a new guy at work that I think likes me, but I don't know. I is very attentive when I speak with him, and he is always putting his hands on my shoulders and goes out of his way to find me before someone else when he has a question. I think he is very handsome and he is smart and witty and has it together.

However, he has a girlfriend and so he is off limits.

So I don't know if this is how he is all the time and he is just being nice, or if I am totally clueless. Either way it doesn't matter cause he is in a relationship. But if he is flirting with me, what can I do to stop it without coming across as an ice queen? I will not go after a guy that has a girlfriend, but I really like him.

Thanks to all in advance for your answers

  • This is a real question. Is it true that you can microwave ants and they don't explode?

I saw a report yesterday on CNN that said they are so small that they can run to the edges on the inside and miss the waves. I don't care to try this, but I was wondering from all you science gurus if this is true, and if it is, could you please explain in plain english for all us non-science gurus how they can survive? Thanks, from a non-science gal.

  • A co-worker sabotaged me yesterday...need advice?

Yesterday I had a co-worker shift the blame from her to me to avoid being in trouble...now I may lose my job. Long story short..

I work in an animal hospital. She checked in a patient for a particular treatment and did not document necessary info the dr. needed as a course of treatment for the day. She told me about a treatment the owners did at home prior to him coming to us. At the end of the day he (Dr.) finds out the owners gave a treatment that impacted the animals potential healt. My co-worker told the Dr. that since I knew about this treatment I should have been the one to tell him, but company policy clearly states that if you check in the patient you are the one that is accountable. She let the Dr. chew my butt off and didn't even try to step in and tell him that it was she, not me, who was responsible. Now I am afraid for my job. This could destroy my career. (It is going in my file). Should I file a defammation lawsuit against co-worker?
