Question about UPS Estimated delivery date?
Hi, I ordered a keyboard from Newegg on Friday the 20th and it shipped on Friday. I picked the 3 day shipping. After I got the tracking info I notice that the estimated delivery date was for Friday the 27th which seemed a little weird to me. I've ordered dozens of things from Newegg and the 3 day shipping has always been delivered in 3 days so I'm not sure what the extra 4 days are about. Now today the tracking info still says estimated delivery is on the 27th but the package is out for delivery. Does this mean I will get it today or will it sit in the truck until Friday?
Thanks
3 AnswersOther - Business & Finance7 years agoCat not taking care of her kittens?
Hello,
We have a cat that lives outside that is about a year in the half old. It had 4 kittens about 4 to 5 weeks ago under our house. We wasn't sure where she had them at first until 3 days ago when my dad heard a ton of meowing under the house. My dad has a bad knee and the rest of us were on vacation so we could get them until now. The problem is that she stopped taking care of the kittens for some reason. She was under the house with them for most of their lives but 3 days ago she stopped going under the house and feeding them. We got them and they are pretty thin and put them in a rabbit cage. We know they were starving because they keep trying to feed and one died. We tried to put her in the cage with them but she just ran away from them and tries to get out. We tried soft can food but they wont eat it which we find strange because we have taken care of a few litters and normally they eat food by now. We tried formula but again they will not feed off it. We finally got them to feed off her but locking her in the cage and giving her food but you can tell she really doesn't want to take care of them. Anyone know why she would just suddenly stop taking care of her kittens? This is her second litter and she did find the first time. We aren't too worried about them because they should start eating normally food soon we hope.

1 AnswerProgramming & Design8 years agoWhat is the best type of video card for Linux?
I'm building a Linux machine soon and have most of the parts picked out. I want to know what video cards have better driver and runs the best on Linux. The computer is going to be used for the standard stuff but also for programming. The CPU I picked out has Intel 2000HD graphics. I have never used Intel graphics on Linux so I'm not sure how to support is. I was think of buying a cheap older nvidia and using it. Can anyone give me some info on what type of card to buy and maybe recommend a card to get. I don't want the card to be to expensive.
1 AnswerDesktops8 years agoWill an old videocard work on a new motherboard?
I'm upgrading my video card from a Geforce gtx 570 to a Geforce 660 ti or 670. I don't have enough money to buy the card right now so I'm selling my 570 and then I'm buying the card but if it does sell it will take a week or two to get the money. I want to continue to use my computer so I was going to take out the old Geforce 9500 from my old hp and use it until I get the new card. I'm not sure if an old card like that can run in my new computer. It is PCI x 16 as far as I know but I'm not sure if it is 1.0 or 2.0. I bought it in late 2008 or 2009. I'll list my current hardware that is relevant below.

2 AnswersOther - Hardware8 years agoProblem with digital audio fiber optic cable causing rapid popping sound the gets louder over time.?
My grandparents just got a new tv and blue ray/surround sound system. I set everything up and have a hdmi cable going from the blue ray to the tv for video and then a digital audio fiber optic cable to get the tv audio to go through the surround sound. The problem is that when you switch the tv's input from the cable box to the blue ray the speakers start making this rapid popping sound that gets louder and louder. I know it has something to do with the cable because when I unplug it the sound stops. Also I can stop it by switching the surround sound system from "optical" to anything else like "aux". I'm not sure what is wrong.
2 AnswersHome Theater8 years agoVideo card problem with new computer?
I recently re-built my computer. I upgraded the motherboard, CPU, RAM, PSU, storage, and cooling. I didn't replace the video card because it was new and the second one I had for the old computer and it did everything I needed just fine. The new computer out preforms the old one by a lot but the video card is now a lot worst. There are two problems I am noticing. One is the crashing. According to the error it is from doing more than the video card can handle which it never did with the old computer and I'm not doing anything that I wasn't doing on the old computer. The second thing is that my fps is now lower than it was on the old computer. I use dual 23 inch 1920 x 1080 monitors and one thing I do a lot is have a game running on the main monitor in window mode but I keep it at 1920 x 1080 and then have a stream or a YouTube video in full screen on the secondary monitor. On the old computer I could do that and both would run fine but now I get around 40fps on the game. This is also when the crashing happens the most but it does happen at other times too like just watching a stream in full screen. It has to be something with the new computer but I'm not sure what. Drivers are fully updated, same OS, and same software setup.

4 AnswersDesktops9 years agoNeed help diagosing a networking problem?
About 2 months ago we upgraded are internet from 10mbps to 20mbps down and around 2 or 2.5mbps up. Around the same time I notice that I wasn't getting the 20Mpbs that I should. I notice that my nic was running at 10Mps even though it is a 10/100 nic. So first thing I check was my drivers because I recently updated them. I decided to roll back the drivers and then that is when everything got messed up. My nic was running at 100Mbps but webpages were loading slow but things like YouTube and downloads were running at the full 20Mbps. I ran a speed test and it turns out I was getting almost no upload. Its was low enough that i would have to refresh the page 5 or 6 times to get it to go through. I updated the drivers again and no change. I didn't really do anything about it because I was rebuilding my computer. I just rebuilt my computer and the same thing. This time the nic was running at 100Mbps but no upload speed at all. I restarted the router and no change. Something I did notice was the light on the lan port that my computer uses is amber and according to the manual that means that a 10Mbps connection is going in to it. A green light means a 100Mbps or a 1000Mbps is plugged in to it. My first thought is the cable used to connect my computer to the router. It was install by someone a few years ago. I'm thinking it must be a 10Mbps cable and that the router is trying to compensate for it by giving me the full download speed but no upload speed but I have never heard of this or read about it. Does anyone have any ideas?

1 AnswerComputer Networking9 years agoProblem with new PC build?
I just got done building my new PC. My problem is that when I turn it on everything runs for about a 1 second and then shuts off. When everything stops moving it turns back on for another second then it shuts back off and just keeps repeating this pattern. Everything is plug in correctly. The CPU led then the RAM led right after does light up but I'm assuming that is because of the lost of power because as far as I know if it was a CPU or a RAM problem the case fans would still run. I also think the PSU is running the whole time based on the fan but I'm not sure because that PSU fan is hard to see and it takes about 7 or 8 second to stop spinning. Also I'm worried that the H80 might be shorting it out because for some reason the motherboard doesn't have holds for the back plate. Not sure if that is part of the design.

2 AnswersDesktops9 years agoDoes a beginner guitar player have to start out with a 6 string?
I listen to a ton of music and have really wanted to learn how to play guitar recently. I'm getting a good amount of money soon so I thought it would be a good time to research guitar stuff. I listen to mostly metal and a listen to stuff from Strapping Young Lad to Meshuggah but my favorite bands are bands like Meshuggah, Periphery, TessearcT, and others like them. The thing is these bands use 7 and 8 string guitars but from what I know most start at 6 then go to 7 then 8. Some people say start with a 6 string but others say just do what you want. I also want to know because there is a cheap Ibanez 7 string on Musician'sFriend that has good reviews. I understand what people are saying when they say start with a 6 string but can't I just ignore the extra string until I get good enough to use it effectively? Can anyone help me out here?

I have been looking for headphones with a budget of $150 or less for a few days now and have narrowed it down to these 2. I read multiple reviews on both but I'm still not sure what to get. They will be used for mainly home use with my desktop and I will use them with a mp3 player sometimes. I listen to mostly metal with a little bit of some other genres like classical and dubstep.

1 AnswerMusic & Music Players9 years agoHow necessary is a degree to be a computer programmer?
I'm currently a freshman collage student going into a CS degree but I'm having some trouble. I love computers and technology in general which is why I plan on working as a programmer for my career. I really enjoy programming and that is why I made that choice. I have been programming since I was 15(18 now) and know multiple languages but I know I need more practice and experience to do it as a career.
My problem is that I'm having a really hard time with the ton of pre-requierment classes to even get into the CS program. My main problem is the way that I learn. I have always had a problem with learning and understanding something that I'm just not interested in. For example Its very difficult for me to read and understand the 10 page reading assignment in history but then I can easily go and read 5 chapters out of a C++ book. Because of how my performance has been in my last 2 semester I was thinking of drop out of the CS program. Now I was going to go to a different school that I originally wanted to go to. Its PTI which offered a 2 year associate degree in computer programming. I feel that the fact that I should have more technology related classes that I will do a lot better.
My question is how important is a Bachelor CS degree is? Also is this a bad choice to make? I read and heard people that are computer programmers say that your skills are more important than what degree you have.

Today I replaced my case for my the PC that I built for myself a few months ago. Everything is powering on but it is not displaying anything and i notice my keyboard led which normally comes on right as the bios comes up is not on. I did have some trouble getting it to even turn on at first but i fixed it by messing around with the CPU power connector. I still think that is the problem. To me it seems like the CPU isn't getting power. I'm not sure whats wrong though. When I first built the PC I had trouble with that connector. It was shorting out the system because for some reason it lets me put the connector in any way I want so I had it in the wrong way. I know its not plug in wrong this time. Can anyone help me?
