My cat was diagnosed with kidney disease and is now peeing around our home.?
My cat is 15 years old and was recently diagnosed with kidney disease. He has started to pee around the house other than his litter box, which is clean. He has pee d on our bed several times, the bathroom floor seems to be a favorite and on a few rugs around the house.
The vet has given us some food that is supposed to help, but after 2 1/2 weeks it doesn t seem to be improving. The last thing I want to do is put him down because he isn t in pain (that I know of) but he is slowly destroying our home. Has anyone had any experience like this? I will try anything that might work to avoid putting down my buddy.
Thanks
3 AnswersCats5 years agoWhat is the best way to make matches for wrestling?
I'm a new coach for middle school wrestling. This is my 2nd year and last year was a bit of a nightmare setting up matches for home meets. We have 2-3 other schools for each home match, for over 100 matches that I had to set up by hand last year according to weight, skill and grade (if possible).
I was wondering if any wrestling coaches out there have any advice for doing this in an efficient way. As it was last year, it took me around 3 hours to set up the matches. Is there a good program available that does it? Or just a good "system" of setting them up?
Thanks in advance.
2 AnswersWrestling7 years agoHow many times can a bullet be chambered before worrying about bullet setback?
I've read about bullet setback a bit and it has me worried. I do CC and always have a round chambered. I rotate the round everyday so the same one isn't used over and over. How many times can a round (9mm if it matters) be chambered before I should start worrying about setback?
6 AnswersHunting8 years agoDoes anyone have any Korean War lessons?
I'm about to start a unit on the Korean War. I have several lessons planned for the unit but some aren't as much "fun" or as interesting as I would like them. I was wondering if anyone has any lessons they've used or have had in the past. This is for a middle school class, but even something geared towards high school can be altered to fit. Sorry I'm not being super specific here, but I really am just looking for ideas to use.
Thanks in advance!
1 AnswerTeaching8 years agoCold War era books for middle school?
I'm trying to put together a reading unit in my social studies class. One book that I plan on using is Red Scarf Girl which is about the communist takeover in China. Does anyone know of any other middle school appropriate books like this? Would like books with a historical story (true if possible) not just a "fact" book.
Thanks in advance.
2 AnswersBooks & Authors8 years agoCan I put a political sign in my yard?
I live across the street from the school where polling is done. I know there are laws about campaigning close to a polling place, but this is my yard so I'm not sure. My yard is about 150-200 feet from the front door of the school (if that matters).
2 AnswersCivic Participation9 years agoToll cost from Wisconsin to Pittsburgh, PA?
Looking to drive to Pittsburgh next weekend and we're trying to figure out how much we should plan in tolls driving through Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and PA. I know this is a little difficult to answer, but searching each states toll way websites is difficult as well. I can't seem to find a map that just shows where tolls are and the price of each, which would seem like a logical thing to do. So if anyone can help me get an estimate, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance.
2 AnswersOther - United States9 years agoCat keeps going out of his box. Help please?
I have a 9 year old cat that is really causing problems. He keeps going pee on things like clothing on the floor or in a basket, and even a rug. He doesn't go in the same spot, its random places. Over the weekend he knocked clothing off the dresser and soiled them and today I discovered he used the bathroom rug. His litter box is cleaned almost daily or at worst every other day, so that shouldn't be a problem. This isn't a new problem, but it seems to have picked up in frequency lately.
I really love my cat, but I'm quickly coming to the point that I don't see another option other than putting him down. If anyone has suggestions, I'm all ears.
Thanks in advance
6 AnswersCats9 years agoWill 600w be enough power?
I'm running an I5 2400 processor, Radeon 6870 HD, 8 gigs DDR3, a 500 gig 7500 rpm hdd (I know, its on my list to upgrade soon), and a cd/dvd burner.
I will buy a quality power supply, but I'm wondering if 600w would be sufficient to run this effectively.
2 AnswersDesktops9 years agoWill a cheap power supply be ok?
Basically, I'm trying to figure out what power supply to buy. My wife is already angry about the money I've spent on the motherboard, processor and new RAM, so the idea of spending a lot on a new PSU is not making her happy at all. I'm looking at this Diablotek PHD 650w PSU, but its gotten some real mixed reviews. I don't plan on doing any overclocking, the highest load it will have is playing games on it.
If anyone could give me some advice here I would appreciate it.
2 AnswersOther - Hardware9 years agoLooking for a fun Checks and Balances lesson?
I'm trying to create a fun, interactive lesson for teaching checks and balances to my 7th graders. Does anyone have any good ideas? I'd like something that gets them debating. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
1 AnswerTeaching9 years agoI have the NFL Ticket, can I watch on my PS3?
I just moved and my Directv won't be installed until tomorrow. I have the Ticket now and was wondering if I can watch it on my PS3 without paying for it again. Does anyone know if there is a way to do this? Or if there is a way to watch it on my PS3 (or even Xbox).
1 AnswerFootball (American)10 years agoIs it legal to convert a VHS to DVD?
The school I work at has several VHS movies that are still something we want to show our students. As VHS machines are starting to disappear and the quality of the VHS tapes are deteriorating are looking for options. Some of the movies we have are available on DVD and we have ordered them in that format, the problem is we have several that are not available on DVD.
So my question is this, is it legal for us to turn these VHS movies into DVDs for our use here at the school?
5 AnswersOther - Electronics10 years agoDaughter never dry and leaks through pull-up at night. Help?
My daughter is now 5 and is in pull-ups at night. She very rarely has a dry night (if ever), and even wets through her pull-up a few times a week. We have tried several things to help her. We stop giving her liquids around 7-7:30, have her use the bathroom before bed. I've even woken her up in the middle of the night and she still goes. She seems to want to be dry and is upset when she wakes up wet, especially if she leaks through.
I'm at a loss for what to do. Any advice would be appreciated it.
6 AnswersToddler & Preschooler10 years agoWhat is it like to teach in a right to work state?
I'm a teacher in Wisconsin, and it really looks like we will become a right to work state in the near future. I'm getting information from my union how bad it will be, but I'm not sure how much of what they tell me isn't just fear tactics.
Basically I'm wondering are teachers in right to work states always worried about their jobs? Is there any job security? What about veteran teachers? Are they more vulnerable because they cost more? What about pay raises? There is just so much that I don't know, and it is kind of scary.
1 AnswerTeaching1 decade agoNeed map project ideas for 7th graders?
I'm a 7th grade geography teacher and I'm looking for some different ideas to shake things up a bit. At the start of each unit I usually have the students do a map to get familiar with the region. I have a poster map of Europe for that unit but nothing for other regions. I was hoping that someone out there has some other ideas for the beginning of the unit activities. The kids usually like doing the maps, but I really think they would enjoy something different.
Thanks in advance.
2 AnswersHomework Help1 decade agoBall Python will not eat. About to just give up?
So my daughter wanted a snake and after doing a lot of asking around we decided on a Ball Python. Everything I've read and heard say they are a great beginner snake because they have a great temper and are easy to take care of. Well this snake has been anything but easy to take care of. We've had her for almost 2 months and she has eaten once during that time. We've left her alone in her cage for the last 2 weeks trying not to stress her and allow her to calm down. Tonight I tried to feed her again after watching her be pretty active around her cage (which I've read is a sign they are hungry). Well once again, she wouldn't eat. I'm starting to get worried because she is losing size and her skin is much more loose then it once was.
This is supposed to be a pet my daughter can enjoy, but I'm close to just giving up on her. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? I really like her, but I'm afraid she's going to die. Which really wouldn't be good.
8 AnswersReptiles1 decade agoShould we worry about our wedding in the Dominican Republic next year? (Oil Spill)?
We are currently planning our wedding for the Dominican Republic next year, but we're a bit concerned that the beaches could be spoiled by the oil spill in the gulf. As of yet I haven't been able to find any info on this. Does anyone know if we should be concerned and maybe look at a different location?
4 AnswersDominican Republic1 decade agoHow should we introduce our cats?
My girlfriend and I are moving in together and we each have a mature cat. My cat is about 6 and her cat is 9. She has brought her cat over to my place twice now and each time the cats really hate each other. They hiss and growl the whole time. There are no fights but there have been some chases out of the room when they get close. Will this eventually pass? Is there something else we can do to help the transition?
4 AnswersCats1 decade agoLooking at a plasma tv, but still a bit unsure?
After doing research and asking questions I've found that many people think that a plasma TV would suit my needs very well. I am a gamer and love watching sports and movies. But after reading up on them I've become a bit nervous about them based on what I've read.
Firstly, the idea of burn in confuses me a bit. Some people say this is a problem, others say its nothing to worry about. Figuring out what the truth is has been a bit difficult. Is this something I need to worry about given how I'm going to be using it?
Second. How much heat do they really produce? Again, this really varies depending on where I read.
Lastly, do plasmas use a lot more energy then an LCD?
I really appreciate any help and advice you can give.
