Hi there!

  • Which is the best wireless router supporting USB connectivity?

I have an external hard drive which I would like to directly connect to a wireless router and share between various household laptops. Which wireless router would you recommend for that purpose?

  • Recipe for a cake with white chocolate, pistachios & cranberries?

I once made a biscotti that had white chocolate, pistachios & cranberries & it was absolutely to die for! Does anyone out there have a cake recipe with those 3 flavors?

  • What percentage of voters do you think mindlessly vote straight ticket?

Personally, I think it's a travesty that there's even the option of selecting, "all the Democrats please" or "all the Republicans please." Do people actually give up their right to think for themselves and select that option?

  • Still undecided--for whom should I vote?

For President of the US--Chuck Baldwin or Bob Barr?

    18 AnswersElections1 decade ago
  • What are the main differences between Chuck Baldwin & Bob Barr?

They seem to me to be very similar candidates, though their parties (Constitution & Libertarian) are quite different. Can anyone succinctly point out the main differences between the individuals' beliefs (not the parties')? Thanks

  • Why do Democrats express concern...?

Why do Democrats express concern at Sarah Palin's "lack of experience" when she has more executive experience & commander-in-chief experience than their own Presidential (not VP) candidate?

  • Who has more executive experience - Obama or Palin?

Do you think potential President Obama has more executive experience or do you think potential Vice President Palin has more executive experience. Please back up your assertion with facts. Thank you.

  • What are the main differences between these two presidential candidates?

    Bob Barr (Libertarian Party)

    Chuck Baldwin (Constitution Party)

There's a good possibility that I'm going to be voting 3rd party this November & if I do, it'll probably be one of these two. I'll obviously be doing my own research (there's plenty of time), but I'm wondering if any of you can point out if there are any differences between them. Thanks!

  • Home equity loan vs. home equity line for vacant land purchase?

I own a home that is half paid off but I would like to build a new one next year. It's a little early in my "new home plan" for buying property, but I just found the perfect vacant property at a really great price. I'd like to buy the property and do nothing with it until I'm ready to build next year. Unfortunately, I don't have enough cash on hand to buy the property outright so I'll need a loan of $21,000 or $22,000 (I have plenty of equity in my home to cover that). My bank has already pre-approved me for a home equity loan at 6.4% but I have yet to look at line of credit rates. Does anybody have any opinions as to whether a home equity loan or a home equity line of credit is better in this situation?

  • Which radio station(s) will be carrying the hockey game tonight?

Unfortunately, I have to be on the road tonight during the game. I'll probably be near Marquette, Michigan around gametime (8:00pm) & will be travelling to Mackinaw City, Michigan. Does anybody know which radio station(s) carrying the game I'll be able to get there (the eastern half of Michigan's Upper Peninsula)?

  • Combining geothermal, wind and solar power at a residence?

My husband I are hoping to build a home next year and would really like to make the home as independent from the grid as possible without completely breaking the bank. Our area has moderate geothermal power potential (though not as good as some other areas) and the property we're looking at buying probably has moderate wind potential (wind probably averages around 10 mph). It also has a southern-facing slope where we would probably build which could potentially utilize solar roofing panels, though our area averages 230 inches of snow per year which could be a problem (summers are VERY sunny with little rain, but winters are quite overcast). Would it be feasible to combine geothermal, wind, and/or solar power using smaller systems so that a windy but cloudy day would yield power as would a sunny day with no wind? Or would we be better off just focusing on one type of power and go gung ho with that one power source?

  • As a Wings fan should I feel guilty that I'm glad the Pens finally showed up?

I've been a fan ever since my dad took me to the old Olympia when I was 5 years old so I've seen some pretty lean years in Detroit (i.e. the "Dead Things" of the "Snore-us Division") & am enjoying our great teams in recent history. Obviously I want the Wings to win the Cup, but after the two dominating wins in games 1 & 2, I was hoping the Pens could at least start showing up & make the games more interesting. Game 3 was finally a GREAT game even though the Wings lost & it was more like what everyone had been predicting. In some bizarre, twisted way I'm almost glad the Pens are finally making things interesting. Any other Wings fans feel this way? Thoughts?

  • Is it illegal to artificially break the oil commodities market?

One of the main reasons the price of gas at the pump is so high is because of futures trading on the commodities market. If enough people banded together with a few dollars a piece that they were willing to lose on the commodities market, they could have a real effect on the price of gas. Would such action be legal?

  • Why is Obama called an African American when he's actually a Multi-Continental American?

I suppose this is more of a sociological / anthropological question, but it is an honest one--not trying to belittle anyone or anything. But I have several questions regarding racial identity.

    1. I'm just wondering why we as a culture call anyone whose features look "black" (i.e. darker-skinned) African American? I would imagine we offend Jamaican or Haitian Americans all the time with our misnomer of them.

    2. Furthermore, why is the identification of a mixed-race or mixed-ethnicity person usually with the minority, rather than identifying with the person's whole heritage (such as Obama being identified as an African American or my Native friends who are 1/4 Native identifying as Native American)?

    3. And why do we subcategorize in the first place? For my part, I'm a multi-continental American, but I prefer just American (though I don't begrudge calling people whatever they wish to be called).

  • Rural America: Do you think your beliefs on guns, religion & immigration are due to bitterness?

as Obama has indicated? Many are defending his remarks by saying they're true so I'm trying to go straight to the subject individuals (those in rural areas of the US) to see if these comments ring true. When you answer, please indicate whether you are from rural America, thanks.

  • Can you have strep throat without any throat pain?

I have VERY slight muscle aches, slight fatigue and a VERY slight headache (it was much worse yesterday) and noticed that I have three white patches on my tonsils. It's also quite contagious because a co-worker also has a headache and white patches on her tonsils. Neither of us has any throat pain whatsoever and other than the slight symptoms we mentioned, we feel great. Is it possible that this is strep?

Yes, I have a call in to my Dr., but while I'm waiting for a call back I'm wondering what wisdom the friendly Yahoo!Answers community might have. Any thoughts?
