  • need to move steering wheel closer?

I have two Toyotas - and '03 Echo and '04 Corolla. Both are great, however I am 6'3" and need the seat all the way back, which makes it uncomfortable to reach the steering wheel. The design seems to be for those who want to sit right up close to the wheel. Is there such a thing as a steering wheel extender, or any sort of replacement wheel that will stick out farther than the stock wheel? I found some aftermarket wheels but they do not necessarily extend out farther than your original wheel. I need a good 3-4 inches of extension

  • Looking for replacement car seats (not covers)?

Can anyone recommend a site for me? I have a 2003 Toyota Echo which has the standard thin, flimsy seats. I would like to replace the front seats completely. Bolt compatibility is preferable, but I am willing to re-use or modify my current seat rails if needed. (I'm not looking for seat covers, as that will not add support.) I am unaware if any OEM seats are compatible, such as from a Camry

  • How do I disable my car alarm?

It is aftermarket bought in Texas for a toyota echo. The visible part is 1 inch square with a a small mountable button-switch on the lower side and an LED to indicate alarm status on the upper side. All I want to do is disable the whole thing. I know it can turn off because today it was off for an hour while I had the door open.

  • Toyota Echo is overheating, almost?

Just got this 2003 Echo with 142k today, which had been sitting for 3 months. I changed the oil, coolant and plugs today. Tonight it was 104 degrees outside and I was idling a lot and the coolant temperature got to 216 degress (using scanguage) which is higher than my other cars ever get. The engine overheating light did not come on but the a/c got less cool. Is this anything I can address, or is it inevitable with this car in this weather?

  • help me find 3x8 index card?

My box of 1000 blank computer-punch-card sized index cards is finally empty. I use these to make to-do lists for myself - the cards are card stock sturdy and about 3" x 8", but all I can find online are 3x5 or 5x8, not 3x8. These used to be called computer punch cards. Where can I find them?

  • Strut is leaking, do I need to stop using car?

A month ago I had my mechanic put 4 new Monroe Sensatrac struts on my 2001 Corolla. They've been great, but today one of them started making a clicking sound over small bumps, and I can see a bunch of dark grease clinging to the bottom of the strut. I can get the strut replaced for free, but not for a week. Is it okay to drive the car in the meantime? I can tolerate the sound.

  • engine noise - quick rattle at stops?

My 2004 Corolla S-model runs great and has a new air filter, belt tensioner, belt, water pump and cleaned maf/TB/IAC. It used to shake a little in drive when at a stoplight but the TB cleaning fixed that.

When I come off the highway and come to a stop somewhere, it makes a 1/2 second rattle in the engine area, I think on the drivers side. Its wierd that it happens at that first stop coming off the highway.

It happens exactly this way: you are going 60mph, slowing down on an exit ramp, you brake and are slowing down to 30, then 20, then 10 (its silent all this time) and then just as you hit 0, you get a 1/2 second rattle. Not as its stopping, after it stops. Any advice is appreciated

  • flash player keeps exiting fullscreen?

When I am watching nba broadband and hit "fullscreen", of course the game goes to fullscreen. I want it to stay fullscreen. But since I use three monitors, if I do any mouse activity at all on one of the other monitors, the game monitor exits fullscreen. Hopefully someone can tell me how to keep it fullscreen. I have tried ie7, firefox, and avant. I cannot seem to find the url that would work with vlc player

  • need youtube fullscreen lock?

I use two monitors and do not want youtube to exit fullscreen mode on monitor #1 every time I use monitor #2.

When you watch youtube in fullscreen it says "press esc to exit fullscreen mode" HOWEVER pressing the mouse on monitor #2 ALSO forces youtube to exit fullscreen mode. Is there a way to keep youtube in fullscreen mode on monitor #1 while I use the mouse on monitor #2?

  • bent my rim, now steering wheel is off?

I went straight over a curb at about 15mph (on the right tire only), which put a big dent in my right front rim and also gave me a flat. I put on my spare and the car is now tending to veer to the right. Looking at the steering wheel I see that in order for the car to go straight, the wheel needs to be about 60 degrees rotated to the left, and the front left tire is pointed slightly left and the front right tire is pointed slightly right. It is a 1997 crown vic, rear wheel drive. So I am about to take it in to be repaired but am hoping someone can take a guess at what is wrong so I can relate with the service manager and be somewhat knowledgeable ahead of time. Thanks!

  • drum brakes make occasional squealing sound?

My rear brakes make a squealing sound somtimes, either while braking or for a few seconds after. I happens once every couple days. I just took off the drums, they are smooth and the shoes look almost new, although the lower half of the left shoe on the passenger side is not as smooth, as though it is not making contact.

Should I try to clean them out, or do any lubrication? I am not too keen on dissembling the shoes and springs but am hoping I can do something to help since the drums are off. The car is a 1993 Century.

  • Looking for fanless vga cooler?

    I have an evga 7300gs

    http://www.penstarsys.com/reviews/video/evga/7300g...

you can see how far apart the cooler mounting holes are.

I have tried to get the Accelero S2 to work but as you can see

    http://www.overclock3d.net/gfx/articles/2007/05/20...

that its holes are not far enough apart. So my question is: does anyone know of a fanless cooler that will work for my card? Thanks

  • my car makes a whistling sound when its on, whether moving or not?

My 1993 Buick Century has begun making a whistling sound. It is a constant monotone, like a boiling tea kettle but not as loud or as high-pitched.

As best I can tell it coming from the rear of the car, or perhaps the middle, on the underside. It is constant regardless of rpms or whether the car is moving or stationary. The only way I can make it change is gets just a little softer if I apply the brakes (the brakes are working fine btw). Anyone have any ideas for me? Thanks a lot!

  • microwave smells like a burned down house?

A week ago my teen daughter accidentally WAY overcooked one of those easy mac macaroni meals, the one where it comes in a plastic bowl and you microwave it. She cleaned out the microwave afterwards and sprayed room deodorizer everywhere, but now its a week later and the kitchen still has that burned smell to it. What can I do?

  • Why does WinXP keep turning off "File and Printer Sharing" after a reboot?

I go to work, plug into the ethernet wire there, shutdown, come home, reboot (then it automatically connects to my wireless router), but I always have to then go to newtork > wireless connection properties and recheck "File and Printer Sharing for MS networks". Why won't it stay checked?
