  • atheists, why do you think Catholics think their "truth" is absolute?

a family member is picking at me about universal(absolute) truth vs relative truth, she says that she and her family live by absolute truth (10 commandments) and I an atheist can only live by relative truth, what makes he think that he truth is absolute, I say that there is no such thing as an absolute truth, how can there be? their are so many different variables, how can their be an absolute truth?

  • about to meet my biological father?

I am about to meet my biological father, his sister (the one that found me) and my grandmother, I have not seen him for 30 years, I am 33, I have been e-mailing my aunt and getting to know her, my father says he loves me, misses me and is scared to death to meet me, but really wants to and never thought he would ever see me again (he has no other children) I am nervous and not to sure how to act, for the last 4 years I thought he was dead (misinformation)

things ended bad between him and my mother (he was abusive and an alcoholic, they were teenagers when I was born) he has been cleaned up for 20 years now, I feel like I am betraying my mother and have not told her, I feel bad that my father missed out on me, I am glad, I was separated from him during his alcoholic days, I am not mad at either one for there relationship issues but I think they are still mad at each other, I just want to get on with it, not sure how to deal, any words of advice

  • My husband and I are fighting about sex!?

my husband is complaining that a month without sex is too long, I am working 8-12 hours per day I have my own business, we have a son that is 13, I have to do my laundry, clean up, shop and try to make food too, he does do part of the house work, and most recently I was helping my mother in the hospital, and having to go to her house 2 times a day for 10 days to feed her cat. and planing our sons birthday, I have a lot going on, but to be honest I am tiered, he said the words "wifely obligations" ( this pi**ed me off, like I don't have enough "obligations already) and I told him he can do his husband obligations, he can start out by taking me to dinner, buying me a peasant, I would even be happy if he came to bed with washed feet! then he turns around and says I need to make an effort, I told him he need to woo me, just because we are married does not give him the right to expect sex without seducing me? boys you want sexy lingerie we want, seduction too, food, flowers and jewelry! who is with me on this one?

  • if pre marital sex was bad how come?

so many characters in the Bible had multiple wives and concubines, they were not married to the concubines but had sex with them and produced children that is premarital sex, does this mean that those children were illegitimate or b-a-s-t-a-r-d-s

would this not be considered adultery? or was it ok to have a concubine as long as the wife is ok with this?

if that is the case and the men in the bible have done it, would you be ok with your Christian man having a concubine and other children?

  • how can you read a book that promotes slavery among many other crimes against humanity?

"As for your male and female slaves whom you may have: you may buy male and female slaves from the nations that are round about you. You may also buy from among the strangers who sojourn with you and their families that are with you, who have been born in your land; and they may be your property."

  • sun burn on a 2 month old tattoo?

I got a sun burn on my new tattoo that I got on June 8th, it is just pink, and itchy no pealing or blistering, I was wearing 50 block and I use a parasol all the time, and a large beach umbrella when I was sitting on the beach, I was digging in the sand with my son, and I did reapply, I am a natural red hed and we are lily white, so I am wondering what the best course of action is to prevent the tattoo from fading in that area, or peeling, sorry only burnt once 15 years ago, my tattoo is a large back piece so I am worried that it will damage the part that you can see from my tank top, thanks

my friend went to one of her sermons and said some crazy stuff, I looked her up and she seems to have a lot of money (wonder were that came from?) how is it that churches collect from people and hopefully use it to maintain the church or offer it to the poor, how is it that these evangelical leaders are able to get money from poor people that are lost. tiers, and sad and use it for their private jets and 7 homes?
