  • Growing plants in crushed coral substrate. (Java Fern/Vallisneria)?

    Hello,

    I'm looking to build an African Cichlid tank. I've read extensively on Cichlids and know about the ups and downs of keeping plants with them; that is not what I'm asking about. (please answer me about the crushed coral substrate and the plants.)

    I've researched the African lake biotopes and read that two plant types occur naturally with the Cichlids, one being a Vallisneria and the other being the Java Fern. I am wondering if someone has had experience growing these plants in crushed coral substrate. I need the pH to be on the high side (7.5-8.5) and I am concerned that the crushed coral may not be suitable rooting material.

    (I've kept aquatic plants before, I had a barb tank when I lived in Canada, but now that I have some experience I'd like to try the brackwater setup, that and I love cichlids...)

    An expert in plants would be wonderful. =)

    Thanks in advance.

  • The great divide, the end of an age golden dawn...?

    The two fish swim in two different directions and are often represented in two distinct colors. The water bearer is coming to lay down for us some fresh water to swim out into and we must make a choice. Darkness, or light? These next few years will be the widening of the great divide between truth and ignorance, are you in the dark on this one or are you swimming out into the fresh water? (pardon the pun)

    Do you think the golden age is a chance at ending dualism?

    Do you think the waters are literal or metaphorical or both?

    By the way, I hope all the ignorant people can post on here to let me know how ignorant they are, because I love feeling like I'm going somewhere in life.

  • The Garden of Eden, Snakes?

    Okay, you won't believe in evolution but you'll believe in a talking snake? What drugs was Eve smoking if she thought the snake was talking to her? Yeah........... How about this, knowledge is the golden apple and if you chop the apple horizontally you get a PENTAGRAM, to the nearest DEGREE! Its a shame 99% of you won't even know where I'm going with this...........

  • Phi and the Bible? Gen. 1:26 // Revelation 1: 8 Explained...?

    Gen. 1:26

    "Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth,” Gen. 1:26

    Revelation 1: 8

    “I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last.”

    In order to be both the first and the last, you must be a circle. If you take a look at the holy trinity doctrine it states God exists as three persons. Understand that God is a circle(the circle of life) and in perfect balance at all times. If you take three circles and balance them perfectly over each other so that they make the holy trinity you will have a three petaled flower, each petal representing a part of God "The Father," "The Son," and "The Holy Spirit."

    Now, humor me for a moment here; using a base number of one as the radius of the circles draw your first circle on a piece of paper, then without changing the radius of the circle use the point of the compass and draw another circle so that the outside diameter of the new circle passes through the exact center of the first circle. Now, take your compass and make a third circle by putting your point on one of the intersecting points and drawing so that your third circle's outside diameter passes through the center of the first two circles. Now that you have this in front of you, measure from any of the created points. If you did this correctly you should get roughly 1.61 This is the greek letter Phi and there is something very special about it. If you measure the distance from the floor to the center of your naval and multiply it by this number you will get your total height, and this works with your fingers, hands, legs, arms, etc..... Thus proving the "make man in our image" part.

    Now I know I could have made this more complicated but I had to dumb it down so everyone could enjoy it. I am not a Christian but I do find this particular section extremely interesting.

    I guess the question is, "Has anyone done this, or agree with me on it?"

    Thanks =)

  • Atheists or Christians? Why do you have to be one or the other?

    I'm not here to denounce science, or evolution, or the moral teachings of the bible. What I'm here to do is ask all of you who believe in anything or nothing; is there a difference? Is there really a difference between believing in nothing, and believing in "Christ?" or believing in Vishnu or Shiva for that matter?

    What has there ever been besides right now? Can you prove that to anyone but yourself? Whats the point in proving that? You must first understand the nature of belief before you are free! Can you not see that you are lying to yourself, goodwill aside? The truth is very relative.

  • What makes your religion is right?

    This question is directed at everyone. There are hundreds if not thousands of religions in the world, most of which you had no idea existed. All of these religions are very similar. If you believe only your religion is the one true religion then I think you've been kind of brainwashed! All you have to do is briefly explore other religions to see they are all the same thing, just spoken in different languages.

    Prove me wrong.

  • Is there any intelligent people out there to answer my question?

    Here is my question;

    If you had omniscience what would you choose to see first?

    (if you don't understand the word, don't bother; the title of my question clearly states you must be intelligent to answer.)
