Phi and the Bible? Gen. 1:26 // Revelation 1: 8 Explained...?

Gen. 1:26

"Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth,” Gen. 1:26

Revelation 1: 8

“I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last.”

In order to be both the first and the last, you must be a circle. If you take a look at the holy trinity doctrine it states God exists as three persons. Understand that God is a circle(the circle of life) and in perfect balance at all times. If you take three circles and balance them perfectly over each other so that they make the holy trinity you will have a three petaled flower, each petal representing a part of God "The Father," "The Son," and "The Holy Spirit."

Now, humor me for a moment here; using a base number of one as the radius of the circles draw your first circle on a piece of paper, then without changing the radius of the circle use the point of the compass and draw another circle so that the outside diameter of the new circle passes through the exact center of the first circle. Now, take your compass and make a third circle by putting your point on one of the intersecting points and drawing so that your third circle's outside diameter passes through the center of the first two circles. Now that you have this in front of you, measure from any of the created points. If you did this correctly you should get roughly 1.61 This is the greek letter Phi and there is something very special about it. If you measure the distance from the floor to the center of your naval and multiply it by this number you will get your total height, and this works with your fingers, hands, legs, arms, etc..... Thus proving the "make man in our image" part.

Now I know I could have made this more complicated but I had to dumb it down so everyone could enjoy it. I am not a Christian but I do find this particular section extremely interesting.

I guess the question is, "Has anyone done this, or agree with me on it?"

Thanks =)

Update:

The only reason the pentagram exhibits phi is because the pentagram can only be made properly by dividing a circle at 72` angles; 72 goes into 360 5 times, which gives you a 5 sided shape. I think the existence of God or Satan is irrelevant to the question. Also, the connection between the pentagram and "Satan" is nothing but a lie designed to throw the untrained eye into a pit of fear, do some reading and you'll begin to see the picture unfold.

Update 2:

Also, I'd like to put forth that I have no part of believing what the followers of the trinity believe.

I heard about that YEARS ago!

    Flash Back! Thanks!

    I mean, THANKS!!!

I agree, but personally never did it. I think I saw it done once! Cool!

Yes and yes. The word translated as angel actually means messenger. God used angels throughout the Bible to convey messages. What Paul is saying in Galatians is that the gospel message is true. If anyone tells you something different-even an angel or what appears to be one- do not believe it. The person or angel who gives out a false gospel will be condemned. Revelation is a strange book. Some of it is highly symbolic-but what those symbols represent should always be taken literally. Taking a course in hermeneutics ( how to interpret the Bible) will help you sort through the Bible. Its not that hard, but if you do not have a system of study-you will get confused. I recommend a "dispensational" approach. That method seems to have a much better grasp.

    1) In order to be both the first and the last, you must be a circle.

That is not a logical deduction. I mean, REALLY not. IF I stand in line at the post office, eventually I will be "first". But, I started out as "last". If I'm the only one waiting, I'm both first *and* last. If I'm the first guy there in the morning, and the last guy to leave at night...well, you get the idea. No circle required.

    2) f you take three circles and balance them perfectly over each other so that they make the holy trinity you will have a three petaled flower

No. First, if you "balance them perfectly over each other so that they make the holy trinity" you'll see a circle. If you see 3 circles, you are not looking at a trinity: you're looking at 3 separate circles balanced over each other. If you combine them into one - like the trinity - then you'll see one circle.

Sorry - I just can't force myself to humor you any longer.

"The golden ratio plays an important role in regular pentagons and pentagrams. Each intersection of edges sections other edges in the golden ratio [phi]. Also, the ratio of the length of the shorter segment to the segment bounded by the 2 intersecting edges (a side of the pentagon in the pentagram's center) is φ, ...

"The pentagram includes ten isosceles triangles: five acute and five obtuse isosceles triangles. In all of them, the ratio of the longer side to the shorter side is φ."

    (Wikipedia: Golden ratio; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_ratio )

And as we all know, the pentagram is a well known symbol of Satanism.

So, if phi is a mark of the Trinity, it is also a mark of Satan.

Actually, I don't believe that mathematics can be used for any kind of theological meaning, other than the wonders of God's creative mind.

There is no Trinity, and since time moves in a linear fashion (most of the time) it is not circular.

I'm glad you told us that you made this dumb so we mere mortals could understand it. Too bad it's philosophically worthless, just a trivial math excercise.
