  • sticky fondant tips, please!?

I am using a marshmallow fondant and I can't get it to NOT be sticky let alone roll out! Does heat and/or humidity play a role in this? It's very hot and humid today but I have the air conditioner going. Any tips would be much appreciated!

  • Parents of Type 1 diabetics: your child and driving?

My son is going to be driving soon. Have any other parents put rules in place for their type 1s and driving without parental supervision? For example: additional finger sticks before getting behind the wheel , that sort of thing. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • We are moving soon and have four inside/outside cats.?

I am a little worried about letting them out at the new place. Should I buy them a litter box and keep them inside until they get used to the new smells and environment or would it be okay to let them out immediately? We are moving to a very rural area; lots of fields and woods to explore.

  • Anyone know this lily?

I used to have a lily that grew to at least six feet tall and had a crown of blooms at the top. The blooms were about 2 inches across, fuchsia with a white stripe, and the petals curved back towards the stem. I would love to have another one (dog ate mine! Bulb and all! It was already planted when we bought the house.) but I don't know the name of it and can't seem to find it in any catalog. Thanks in advance!

  • Cash register question?

I have a direct sales business (www.myubam.com/B3974 in case you're interested! ;) ) and I am doing a lot of booths. I am looking at cash registers and I notice a feature called price look up (PLU). Does anyone know how this feature works? I assume you enter in the item name and it's price, but I have multiple items that have the same price. Anyway, I would appreciate any insight into this feature you could give. Thanks in advance.

  • About the Fort Hood shooter...?

Of all of the articles I have read and all of the news accounts, why haven't I heard once the words "terrorism" or "treason"? These were shootings against military personnel during a time of war. Isn't that treason? And if so, doesn't treason during a time of war result in the death penalty? Personally, I am not in favor of the death penalty, especially in this situation. I think this man should set out his days in a military prison rather than making him a martyr for his cause...no virgins for you, Hasan!

As to the terrorism aspect, I can't imagine an act that better defines the word, yet not one media account is calling it this. Why not?

  • Do the Deaf sign in their sleep?

I talk up a storm when I sleep (according to my husband) and that got me to wondering. Since speaking is my way of communicating and I talk in my sleep, do the Deaf who use sign as their way of communicating sign in their sleep?

  • Anyone know of a Hugh Jackman movie in which he DOESN'T cover up his accent?

Besides "Australia" (I can't stand Nicole Kidman). I love Australian accents, and oh yes, Hugh Jackman. Thanks for answering

  • Has using ear buds ever made you nauseous?

I have been listening to a lot of training tapes lately and after wearing my ear buds for more than ten minutes, I start feeling sick to my stomach. I have a lot of problems with my ears and balance, I was wondering if this could be related? Has anyone else ever heard of this or experienced it? Thanks in advance.

  • Why does anyone think a government run health care system would work?

Government has proven time and time again that they CAN NOT run health care systems: Medicaid and Medicare are bankrupt, social security is bankrupt, and quite frankly, the VA is a national disgrace.Wait six months for a damn cane? Wait for treatment for cancer until that treatment would no longer be a viable option because, hey, you'll be dead before they can even start it? Why would anyone believe THIS plan would be any different? I think the Obama administration should fix what is already in place and then trot out this supposedly "fantastic cure-all" for the nation's health care problems.

  • Is anyone afraid that under Obama's health care plan that pumps and supplies won't be covered?

I have a feeling that they won't be seen as necessary, and therefore won't be covered. Also, I don't believe for one second that the proposed tax incentives to employers will keep them from dumping private insurance. My husband's company (before they shut down) was paying $600 a month per employee for insurance coverage, and we picked up $119. Does anyone really think the government will give a $600 tax credit per employee for every business? I am really upset over this. My son's quality of life depends on this.

  • Are there any CGMs available that have been cleared for use by kids?

All of the CGMs I've looked at are only available to 18 and older patients. Does your child have one? How do you like it? Thanks for taking the time to respond.
