4 AnswersPeugeot6 years agoMechanic told me bent valves, but no damage to pistons?
A few days ago on my drive home my care suddenly lost power and died as I was coming to a stop. I was still able to crank the engine, but it was misfiring and shaking badly, and would stall every time I'd put the car in gear.
I had it towed to a agrage where the mechanic told me that my timing belt had slipped, which resulted in damage to the valves. The only thing that raised a bit of a question for me was when i came in the next day to see the engine taken apart. He said he had sent the top end it for a rebuild, so I didn't have a chance to see it myself. I inspected all the cylinder and non of the pistons showed any signs of hitting the valves... there were no dents or scratches on the tops of the pistons. This made me wonder.
Is it possible for pistons to hit the valves without suffering any damage, or could it be that the mechaninc just told me that to get a higher repair bill

17 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoJust got an eyebrow piercing?
I had my eyebrow pierced about 3 hours ago and the peircer explained how to take care of it and everything, but I wanted to hear some opinions from people that have gotten their eyebrow pierced ( or any other type of peircing done ). This is the first peircing I've ever had done so I'm a little paranoid about the whole healing process.
How long does it usually take for this type of piercing to heal, and what other steps can I take other than saline wash to ensure it heals properly?
What have your experiences with peircings been like?
Thank you!!!! : )

5 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoCD Rom drive on laptop no longer recognized?
I have a Compac notebook computer running Windows XP sp3. I don't use the disk drive often but today I put a dvd in the drive and the drive powered up as it should but it wasn't recognised by the computer. I thought the dvd might be faulty so I tried another cd and still got the same problem.
I looked in the device manager and I noticed that the cd-rom/ dvd drive doesn't even show up on the list. Could it be that the driver got erased? I have a driver recovery cd for my computer but thats obviously useless since the drive doesn't work.
Does anyone know how I can fix this problem?
Thank you.
