  • How much laundry and dishes do you all do in a week?

My husband and I have three kids (ages 5,7,and 10) and we end up with about 10 loads of dirty laundry a week. Every day just with the outfits we have on it equals a whole load of laundry. Plus adding in at least one load of towels, a load of cleaning and dish rags (which I bleach) and any sheets and blankets that need washing. I feel like all I do is wash and fold clothes......every day! We go through about one dishwasher load of dishes a day and at least one bag of trash. I paid close attention for the past few days of what kind of trash we accumulate and it is mostly take out food containers, paper towels, paper trash, and expired food. All things that I can VERY much so cut down on and control. We own a business, two kids are in school, one is at home with us still, and we have a dog and several cats. Constant chaos. I am trying to make house cleaning easier and quicker so I am trying to figure out where the mess starts so that I can prevent it. Any tips or ideas?

  • I am not attracted to my husband anymore, and am I being a ***** about it?

I can't find any information or any websites about this......so here I am. My husband and I got married very young and have been together for 15 years now. Over that time, he gained a lot of weight and got up to over 300 pounds. Stretch marks and everything. A million things happened and he lost 100 pounds, but still struggles with being overweight. He eats a lot of junk and is not active. Works from home and sits at a desk all day. He doesn't shave or groom anywhere else. His clothes are faded, too small and have rips and tears. His shoes are old and smelly. Today we were watching a movie together on the bed, and his breath smelled so bad, that I got up and left. His teeth are yellow and he won't keep up on going to the dentist (he has two root canals that he needs done). His jagged toenails slice my feet up at night. Even though I have had three children, I am not overweight, I work out, I have a nice figure, I wear makeup everyday, shower twice a day, have flawless white teeth, I keep my hair highlights up, I always smell nice, my clothes are clean and in good shape. I am a hard worker at home, and at my job, but I find time for hygiene. I care about my appearance and I try to look nice for myself and HIM. I haven't said anything to him about it, but I offer to buy him clothes and try to encourage him to take care of himself, but he isn't getting the hint. He was very, very poor when we first met so I thought these issues were because of that, but he can afford to fix them now, but doesn't care. I could say more, but I think you get the idea. Am I being a superficial ***** about this? Honest and constructive criticism please. :)

  • Does it matter if I am fat?

I am a 5'4" tall, 30-year-old female. I weigh 165 lbs, which is about 20 lbs overweight. I have three kids....I don't drink, smoke, or use any drugs......I am moderately active, meaning that I wash my car, mow my lawn, walk my dog, clean my own house, and I go for a 2 mile run a few nights a week, etc.......I eat between 1,500 and 2,000 calories a day.........we eat don't even have butter, mayo, or any unhealthy fats in our house.......we eat very health, lots of fruits and veggies, grilled fish, and whole grains, very little white flour and sugar......if I ever go out to eat, its either at a salad bar or for sushi......the only liquids I drink are water and iced tea......I have a 29 inch waistline and wear a 36C bra....I carry my weight in my hips and thighs.......I wear a size 10/12......my cholesterol is 156 and my blood pressure hovers around 100 over 60......I have NO health problems at all whatsoever...........NOW, does it really matter if I am technically "fat"???? I am sick of worrying about it all the time.

  • Am I hoarding this stuff?

My mom is a hoarder and I had to grow up in a house filled with trash, cat and dog feces, and junk. I don't want to be like that but there is a fine line between keeping to much and just being sensible. I have three little kids, a husband, a dog, and several cats. We live in a 1,465 sq ft home. We are getting cramped for space so I am tossing stuff out. I keep ALL of my kids clothes in case I want another baby someday. I have two daughter so the hand me downs make sense there, and I stopped keeping my sons clothes once he hit a size 2T. I also have all of my maternity clothes. Together I have about 6-8 large tubs of clothing in my storage shed. Should I keep them for the possible future or get rid of them? I know I hold on to things of this nature for financial reasons. We have hit hard times before and have had to sell things to buy food. I have fears that this will somehow happen again and I will need this stuff to sell. Suggestions?

  • Help for an adult who was an abused child?

My husband (who I have been married to for 10 years now) and I got married when we were both 19. We both came from trouble childhoods. His was much worse than mine. His parents got together when his dad was 20 and his mom was 13. His mom had him when she was 16. She got into drugs right after he was born. She has been on drugs ever since...was even a prostitute for a while. My husband lived a horrible life of severe neglect and abuse. I have NO idea how he survived. He was left alone for entire weekends when he was only 2 year old and younger, beaten with bed posts, starved, and God knows what else. His mom's boy friend use to hold him by one foot over a 2 story balcony and threaten to drop him, as a punishment. When he was 18 months old, he and his mom were both kidnapped by a crazy guy who kept his mom drugged and used her as a sex slave for 2 months. No one knows what happened to my hubby during this time or who took care of him, or how he survived. CPS took him away from his mom about a dozen times. Not sure why they kept giving him back. I am looking for information or support groups for this kind of trauma. Does anyone have any suggestions? There is VERY little information on it.

  • Is there such thing as a size 33D bra?

I can NEVER find a bra that fits me right and Victoria Secret says that my true bra size does not exist. My under bust is 33 inches around, and then when I measure around my boobs, it's 37 inches. Ok, so that makes me a D cup. But a 34 inch band with a D cup doesn't quite fit right. Does a 32 D exist??? Would that fit better???? Should I just give up and not even wear one?

  • How do I get over my fear of people knocking on my front door?

I have this stupid phobia of people knocking on my front door. If I ever hear someone knock on just a coffee table, I freak out and panic. Whenever someone knocks on my door, I grab the kids and hide in the shower. This is NOT normal. I do know where this fear comes from. When I was in high school, I had a crazy ex-boyfriend who would always knock on my front door. My mom would ALWAYS answer it and let him in, no matter what, and I would run to my room and lock the door and hide in fear. Also, when I lived in an apartment, I was home sick one day with MRSA and the maintanance people came over to check something and knocked on the door for like 15 minutes while yelling. I was really scared and didn't answer the door because I was sick, so I just crawled into a closet and hid. They came into the apartment anyway and checked some water pipes or something and then left. So I guess my problem is that sooo many times when someone has knocked on my door, it has been for a really negative reason. So that is what I associate the sound of someone knocking on a door with. So how do I get over this???? I can't be hiding in the shower all the time!!!!

  • Has anyone heard of this online credit card purchase scam?

My husband and I own an online business and we had a customer call several weeks ago, at 10 o'clock at night, claiming that his credit card had been stolen that day and was used to purchase a class from us. (We teach CPR online.) The class was for less than $20. We told him to email all the information to us and that we would get back to him on Monday morning (he called on Friday night....the 17th of July.) He called all weekend long and we didn't answer the phone because we are closed on the weekends. Anyway, he called again on Tuesday and talked to me instead of my husband. He was not aware that I knew of the situation. He explained the situation although now claimed that his card had been stolen on the 20th of July. So somehow the date changed. And he never emailed us the information we requested. We checked our records and a purchase was never made by this person. He claimed that whoever stole his card also stole his email address, using it to sign up for a class. We told him to call Paypal since we had no record of his "stolen purchase". He hung up the phone on us. He called back a few days ago and spoke to me claiming that he had called Paypal and that they said to call us. He still wanted a refund. Prior to this call, we sent him an email explaining that we also had called Paypal and they said that had no record of a purchase from him. The email came back as in invalid address. So this time on the phone, he gave me another email address.....he put me on hold for 15 seconds while he went to get the address. It was a strange email address that started with a womans name and had a bunch of numbers. His name is Robert. I sent an email to that address and it came back as invalid too. He refuses to give us any information about his card being stolen and the info that he does give us keeps changing. Is he trying to scam us?

  • I don't support my friend's decision to go through IVF....?

A friend of mine has been trying to get pregnant for over a year and after three failed months of Clomid, she is moving on to IVF. Based on who she is as a person, why she is doing this, and her lack or morals, I dont agree that she should do this. I feel like I should support her as a friend, but it is hard when I am so against what she is doing. I don't feel like I should tell her that I don't support her, because it is her life, not mine, and not my place to judge. But I have very strong opinions about IVF and it's moral implications. She needs help after the procedure and I am having a hard time being supportive. Suggestions?

  • Whose fault is it that my neighbors dog won't stop barking?

We have lived in this house for five years and whenever my kids make any noise in the back yard or when one of my cats go outside, my neighbor's dog barks....and barks....and barks. It's so annoying! We have a block fence between our houses so it's not like the dog can even see us. But if we make any noise or he sees one of my cats (who don't ever leave my back yard) the dog won't stop barking. Any little thing and it sits there and barks. My own dog doesn't even act like this. Is there anything that I can do about this?

  • Is it possible to suddenly develop postpartum depression when your baby is 6 months old?

I had this with my middle child so I know what it feels like. My youngest is 6 months old and I am suddenly feeling symptoms of postpartum depression. I was just fine until now. I breastfeed only and there have been no changes with that at all. I have been losing about half a pound every day or two also, for no reason at all. Is it just hormones being goofy or something else?

  • My dog got sick being boarded at the vet...?

I paid $205.00 to have my dog boarded at our vet for five nights while we were on vacation and she ended up getting kennel cough while she was there. Shouldn't the vet be responsible for paying for her medical costs? They claim that they have no responsibility for it. They even wrote on her records that she got a cough while she was there.

  • How often did you need to nurse your baby?

I just had my third baby 4 1/2 months ago. I breastfed my other two kids and well as this one. No formula or pumping......just 100% pure organic boob. But with my first kid, my boy, he would not go more than one hour without nursing and he would nurse for like two hours straight. He is above average height and weight so he was getting enough milk. He just wanted to be on the boobie all the time. This baby is doing the same thing only she wants to nurse every 30 to 40 minutes and would nurse for hours if I let her. WHY? My middle child did not do this and would nurse every two hours or so for about ten minutes and would be content. The other two wanted to nurse all the time and if they were not nursing or being carried around, they would just cry. They also hardly ever sleep. No naps. Is it normal for a 4 month old to not take naps....ever? All three kids are very happy and very intelligent (the boy skipped two grades in school) , so I guess I should not worry. But has this happened to anyone else?

  • What label would you give my mom for this?

My mom has serious control issues, I am guessing. My dad was killed in a car accident when I was 5 years old. My mom raised us on her own ever since. My siblings and I are all adults now, but my mom still throws fits if we do not wait on her hand and foot. She gets mad if people do not come over and take out her trash for her or do things around her house for her. She is only 59 years old and is perfectly capable of doing all these things for herself. She always wants people to come over and clean her house for her, wash her car, things like that. When we were kids she use to tell us all the the time that we were trying to kill her and that we were all so mean to her if we did not do every little thing for her. She would love to have slaves who waited on her all day. What behavior would you call this and what would cause a person to act this way? She was always very spoiled by her own parents and has never really had to do anything for herself. She sits at home all day and watches tv, yet wants me to come over and clean and cook and all this stuff that is NOT my responsibility. She demands that we all roll out the red carpet on mother's day and her birthday and of course nothing we do is ever good enough. Is she just spoiled rotten?

  • Question for exclusively nursing moms.....?

Just had my third child three months ago. I am one of those moms who chooses to nurse her kids (no bottles, formula, breast pumps, or even pacifiers, for the first year of their little lives). I was trying to drop the last ten pounds that I am still carrying around by lowering my caloric intake, but it really reduced my milk supply. I was eating 1800 calories a day and my baby wanted to nurse all the time and cried a lot and acted like she was starving. My boobs never felt full and never leaked or anything. I quit the diet and went back to eating whatever I want and my boobs are full of milk and leaking and the baby is fat and happy again. She is a big baby (10 pounds at birth) and it is hard to keep up with her food needs. I want to get this last ten pounds off, but I can't diet, and exercise is not cutting it. Has anyone else had this problem??? Advice please???

  • This is a tough one!?

I am having a birthday party for my boy next week and I am serving lasagna, salad, bread, and drinks. My grandmother will be there. She has kidney problems and is on a very strict diet. She CANNOT have any dairy products or tomato products at all. This means no cheese. What can I make for her that would be similar to lasagna without tomato sauce or cheese????

  • My kitten has too much of an interest in my baby....?

I have a two month old baby and a 4 month old kitten. My neighbor gave me the kitten when it was only 3 weeks old so I had to bottle feed it for a while, and before that, my neighbor had his dog raising it. SO needless to say, the cat is a little confused and thinks it is a person or a dog. It has no interest at all in my 8 other cats. And it has a particular interest in the baby and sleeps ON her at night. We thought maybe it was that she liked the smell of the breast milk on the baby (I only nurse my baby and she doesn't take a bottle or formula). But I squeezed some breast milk into to a bowl to see if that is what the kitten was after and she had no interest at all. The baby sleeps with us and the kitten sleeps on the baby and purrs and nurses on her clothes. I am worried that she will lay on her face and suffocate her. We are putting her in her bassinet tonight to see if the kitten will leave her alone. Has anyone else had this problem?
