I am in Europe and need access to my Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. What VPN works for you?
I see many comparison sites, but they all seem pretty shady. So I'm looking for a real human to vouch for a service or two.
4 AnswersSoftware8 years agoCan anyone recommend an internet-based high school algebra summer school program?
My daughter missed a fair amount of her 8th grade algebra class in the second semester, so I would like to find a way for her to make up missed work without having to repeat the entire course. (She's still passing the class, but is clearly missing a number of key concepts.)
2 AnswersPrimary & Secondary Education1 decade agoCan someone help me find guidance on designing a post and pier foundation and sub-floor?
I'm adding on to an island cabin that already has a post and pier foundation, so I would like to stick to post and pier for the addition. (Concrete is tough to get out there.)
Can you recommend some reference resources for how to design such a foundation? I see sites that show how to build one, but not so much about how to design them.
1 AnswerDo It Yourself (DIY)1 decade agoPlease help me to understand the relationship between BUN and Uric Acid in lab test results...?
I am attempting to understand my wife's prognosis using the Seattle Heart Failure Model, but it calls for Uric Acid and her lab results consistently report BUN. Both have units of mg/dL. Are they effectively the same thing?
3 AnswersHeart Diseases1 decade agoIf my U.S. passport expires while I'm in Canada for a week of vacation, will I be able to cross the border?
I just went to take my passport out and I realized that I may have a big problem!
My passport will expire on August 8, a few days after I wanted to cross into Canada by car, and a few days before I wanted to return. I can't find my birth certificate. I have a driver's license for proof of identity, but I wonder how the expiration of the passport will impact what they consider to be proof of citizenship.
In light of all the tough new rules, what sort of risk would I be taking by approaching the border with driver's license and a soon-to-expire passport in hand? (I'll be travelling with my family, who all have current passports.)
6 AnswersImmigration1 decade agoHow important is it to control hypertension?
I'm looking for statistics here, not just generalizations or guidelines. For one or more end results (death, hospitalization, MI, whatever seems appropriate), I would like to know the relative risk as a function of, say, systolic BP. [I have a few more questions that will help to shed some light on why I'm asking, but I think this one question stands alone pretty well.]
