  • Leather wallets and diaper pails....?

My son found my wallet and decided to "hide" it in his diaper pail. It was in there for several hours before I discovered it. Anyway, now it smells like the diaper pail. How can I get the smell out? It's leather. Normally, I would just throw it out and get a new one but, I spent alot of money on it, and I'd like to save it if possible.

  • Milk substitutes for an 8 month old baby?

My son is 100% breastfed. The problem I have is that I have no luck pumping. I have tried everything, and nothing helps me pump more than an ounce. He will not take formula, so on the few occassions I have had to leave him at home, things have not gone well. My question is, has anyone tried giving rice milk or soy milk as an occassional substitute? I'm talking once or twice a month, so it's not like it would totally replace breastmilk. Obviously, I'll speak to his doctor first, but I would like to hear a few personal experiences. Thank you.

  • Very difficult situation. How do I make this work?

I'm being induced on Monday due to complications with my son's (Alex) heart. He is expected to be in the NICU for at least a week and a half. I also have a two year old son, Zackary. How do I divide my time between being at the hospital with new baby, and being home with my other child? We have lots of help, and people willing to take care of my older son, but it's not the same as being there myself. I know I'll feel guilty when I'm at the hospital, because I'm not at home with Zackary, and guilty when I'm at home because I'm not with Alex. It's already breaking my heart. I can't imagine leaving Alex alone at the hospital for any length of time, but I also don't want to be away from Zackary the whole time. It's breaking my heart, so please tell me what I should do? It's worse for my husband, because he has to divide time between the two boys and still go to work as well. So, how do I keep us all sane at the same time? Sorry this is so involved. I really just don't know what to do.

  • What did you do while your child was in NICU?

My boy will be going to the NICU within minutes of his birth in 3 or 4 weeks. He has an Aortic Valve Stenosis. Has anyone ever given birth knowing your baby was going to be taken to NICU pretty much as soon as they're born? How did you deal? Did you follow them right away, or did you take some time to recover first? Did you stay with them until they left the NICU? If you have other children, how did you balance being home with your other kids and being at the hospital with your newest baby? Sorry this is so long, I just don't know what to do.

  • Proper way to notify people that you are cancelling a baby shower?

So my baby shower is being cancelled. Do I need to hand out written notification or would a verbal or e-mail be sufficient? The shower was scheduled for January 8th. Thank you.

  • I'm terrified of going to the hospital.?

I'm 27 weeks along with my second little boy. Exciting, right?! Although I am over the moon happy about my newest little boy, but I'm terrified about going to the hospital this time to give birth. I am almost having panic attacks about it. Things did not go well with my first son. Although I avoided a c-section, it just was not how it should have been. I won't go into detail, because it doesn't really matter. I would much rather stay home, but that's not an option for us. Am I the only one who feels this way? Is anyone else not looking forward to going to the hospital?

  • Flea spray clean up during pregnancy.?

I'm 26 weeks pregnant. We have to do a flea treatment in our house and on our dog. If I wear gloves and a mask, should I be okay to help with the clean up after? I mean stuff like mopping and wiping down surfaces of furniture and stuff. Obviously I won't be around when the chemicals are being applied.

We are using foggers to get rid of fleas. My question is, does our monitor heater have to be turned off or completely unplugged?

  • Broncitis during pregnancy.?

I am 25 weeks pregnant. I have had a direct exposure to bacterial broncitis. Does anyone know what kind of effect this can have on the baby? I don't feel sick yet, and I am going to see my doctor anyway. I was just wondering if I'm over reacting or not.

  • I feel stupid even asking this....?

I have a fundal placenta. Basically that means my placenta is at the exact top of my uterus. I was wondering, when the baby gets into the birthing position (head down) is there anyway he could damage or rupture the placenta by kicking it? I know it's a silly question. This is my second baby, so I should know this, but I never asked my midwife, because it sounded so dumb when I said it out loud. Thank you so much.

  • How can I get red dye out of my former white clothes?

So my husband thought he was being helpful and did all of our laundry. Without sorting it first. Anyway, as you can guess, I now have an abundance of pink things that used to be white. Is there anyway to get the dye out, or do I have to get rid of it all and buy new stuff?

  • Are you more nervous this time around? Question for women on their second (or third, or fourth...) pregnancy.?

I am pregnant with my second baby. I'm 21 weeks, and I've been thinking alot about the birth. I am more terrified this time around because I know what is coming. I also know that whatever I go through will be well worth it. I was just wondering how other people felt about it. Are you like me, and are more nervous this time, or less worried because you know what to expect?
